"No, they aren't," Padma said. "I never expected the magical books to be quite so... misbehaved."
Padma smiled to see Nimue in the mirror, flipping her stuffed toy over into a sheep.
"Divide and conquer seems like an excellent plan to me," Padma said. "My mother could have benefited from that. We were always together for our first three years; when they tried to separate us after that, we'd Apparate to each other's side. I think my aunt nearly had heart failure when I suddenly disappeared out of her arms."
Padma paused a moment, then decided to go for it. Faelan had been on her mind since the party, and Luna might be a good source of information.
"I really enjoyed your party - thank you for inviting me. I talked a bit with Faelan when I was there... do you know him well?"
