Faelan thought about that, and nodded. It was true - he'd thought of his family during the holidays, but not much. The truth was that he'd enjoyed Christmas at Haven's Loft so much because they all seemed to enjoy him. The kind of belonging he felt these days was beyond anything...made him feel far happier than he'd ever been, even as a kid when he'd had a 'real' family.
"Yeah," Faelan agreed, fiddling with his napkin. "I know Sirius really cares, but at first I thought Gaius and Harry only tolerated me because they wanted to please him. But now I know it's different. At least...it is for me, so..."
At that, Faelan looked up, met Remus' eyes for a fleeting moment, and forced himself to say what he felt. He owed the man a great deal, after all. "And I'm really grateful to you."
