Sirius had to think about that for a minute. It sounded like Faelan had ended up sort of a satellite member of the pack, tolerated on the outskirts, but no more. He also sounded like he might be ashamed of that -- of having put up with it.
"It can be hard to leave when you think of a place as home," he said companionably, "even if you hate it. 'Should' gets confused by things like that."
