It hurt his head to try and make sense of it too much, little bits of it came to him - like the fact that they lived here together, this house was theirs, that Claire was someone he liked very much. He nodded when she came to the same conclusions he had. "Yeah, yes - I think." He added because he didn't want to come across like he actually had the answers he was in the same boat she was. "This house is ours, we ... we live here alone." What did that mean for Aunt May and Uncle Ben? He frowned trying to find that answer but it wasn't coming to him, but he didn't think they'd just run away or anything like that. This was just their life now.
It was how they got here that was strange. But he didn't feel scared about it, not really, not with Claire there.
As for breakfast. "Yeah," He nodded yeah of course they had cereal because he liked cereal, cooking in the morning was the worst and Aunt May didn't always want to do it so sometimes you just had cereal of course they had some, they had to. He looked at the door too, deciding whether or not it was safe to go out there, but this was their house. Of course it was safe. "If you want I can go out first." He offered, "Check and make sure it's okay out there? And if we have cereal?" He didn't like seeing Claire look scared and maybe he was just a scrawny kid too but he could protect her.
