Even at 13 the Losers had known better than to tell anyone else about It. With the exception of Sonia Kaspbrak, the adults had all been rather apathetic about the missing children. Even then Sonia was only interested in using those missing, dead, children as an excuse to keep her only son as close to her as possible. Even mentioning the clown that inhabited the sewers would've ended with a stay in Juniper Hill. He could tell by the way she blinked that she was struggling to accept what he'd told her but, in the end, she did. "I've been told we did. Whatever brought us in brought me before that point. That's why I still have this." He said, motioning to the weapon he was carrying. "It kiss monsters. If you believe it does."
Beverly hadn't lied. So maybe he just hadn't believed enough. Maybe he'd doubted and, in that moment, It had all that was needed to recover and kill him. He wasn't ready to go back to that and live it. To find out the details he couldn't get and could never really ask for. He nodded at her assessment because she was right. It wasn't that simple for everyone.
If asked, he may have told her. He also may have just tried to shrug it off. Natasha seemed strong but she also seemed like someone who had enough problems of her own to carry around. She didn't need some near stranger telling her all of his deepest, darkest secrets. In the grand scheme of things, however, being marked for death wasn't as big as everything else he was carrying around. It didn't feel as heavy as the things he'd struggled with since he was 13. So, they'd both keep their secrets. For now.
Richie was easy to talk about and Natasha was easy to talk to. She didn't judge him, the way he always expected people to when he allowed his affection for Richie to show so openly. He smiled at her and shook his head. "We'd need a longer walk to get through all of them." He sighed because they were already close to the house in question. Looking up at it, Eddie let out a sigh of relief. Part of him had been expecting to look up at see the house on Neibolt street staring back at him. This was a good change. "Let's go see how scary these doors are."
