Maybe he should've thought about getting out. He could have focused a little less on Richie and the fucking existential crisis the other man had wanted him to have. "I'm not even sure how that's possible." He sighed because, yes, that just sounded crazy and he shouldn't just be taking her word for it. "But given the shit going on back home it seems entirely fucking possible." And normal. After the whole clown thing Eddie was willing to believe these things. It would make sense that the woods lead nowhere. There'd be no escaping anything trying to catch you in them. Why did he let himself think like that?
"I'm actually okay with this not being New York." Because Myra was in New York. She was probably sending him texts upon texts right now. Reminders about pills and things he didn't actually need. Demands to come home because it wasn't safe. He could get hurt. He could get killed. If she knew how right she'd been about that last part she'd be too smug to be upset. "I was already out of the city before I came here. I'm fine with this place not being Derry either. Too... well, murdery."
No one had told him about the doors. "I..." He groaned as he leaned back against the house. "No one told me about these doors." Not that it would've mattered too much. He'd just had a bad experience with doors. "Wait. They aren't in some creepy house, are they?" If they were he had a weapon for it, at least. Maybe it hadn't worked against the clown but it might work against something else. Even if it wasn't fueled by the power of belief it was still metal and pointy. It was still a weapon.
"Yeah, I can see how that'd sort of kill the drive to strike out on your own. Furniture shopping or, I guess, finding can be kind of boring." He still remembered being dragged through various stores by Myra as she picked out their home decor. He might have liked it a little more if she'd ever bothered to listen to him. "I also don't like sitting on the floor when Rich is tracking his dirty shoes all over the place... and a table and plates are definitely a must. He's the kind of asshole who'll eat standing over the sink if I let him." He might still do it to annoy the shit out of him.
