Yes, Richie had walked in terrified. Red doors were rather foreboding, after all. And magic hadn't seemed much better. But it was pretty hard to maintain a fast pulse and feeling like he was going to vomit when the wizard in question -- Bill -- was doing such mundanely fantastical things with his magic. Richie was smart enough to have a healthy fear of things he didn't really comprehend on this level, but watching someone get milk with a swish of his wand was --
Well, it was almost comforting.
So by the time he'd finished there, the only thing Richie was really wary of was the fact that he ought to be still feeling wary. It was best, he figured, to be a little bit on his toes no matter what.
Was this guy flirting with him? Richie rose an eyebrow over the frame of his thick glasses and peered back when Bill's full attention was on him. "Wouldn't want that," he agreed, although his response was more cautious than anything else. Richie's experience in flirting with men was limited to only Eddie, and even then he usually framed it as a joke just so he didn't end up with a situation he'd regret and no friend at all.
It wasn't like he didn't want to be better at it. It wasn't like all that flirting and dating he'd done with women had been his -- hah -- cup of tea in the first place. But old habits apparently died very hard.
Still. "By all means," he said, gaze shifting awkwardly to the side even as he plucked his glasses from his face again and handed them over. Not being able to see anything beyond a blur of skin and red sort of made things easier. "Gentle is good," he joked, because Richie was always joking. "It's my first time."
