Claire had watched her friends one after the other hang all their hopes on one person, convinced that person could be everything to them. But in time Claire had started to wonder if one person could actually be everything someone needed, that was a lot of pressure. People were flawed and expecting too much of someone was a recipe for unhappiness. She liked Peter, she'd liked him from the moment he'd come across her all no pants and moved her into his house. Since then he hadn't mentioned her leaving and so she hadn't bought it up and all of a sudden there was a room here for her.
But the unspoken thing was maybe she missed sharing.
She gave a little kick of her legs as she leaned back in her chair. "I don't see anyone else doing it, seems like a good way to ruin a fun parade having to be responsible," Claire sighed sadly.
Trust him to just kind of awkwardly fall into something and Claire snorted, she found his utter lack of being smooth endearing. He wasn't the sort to keep his feelings secret and he'd been very open with her, that was what drew her in and kept her there. "Well now he's feeling better, might be a good time." He felt awfully far away then, for s conversation Claire wanted to bring them closer and she stood up before depositing herself in his lap.
