The thing was, Nyx just cared for the people of this town, even if they weren't his people exactly, he cared. It also wasn't really that he thought people were leaving their lives behind, more that they were accepting their place here, and moving forward with what they could. So yeah, Leia was spot on where his attention laid. Through conversations with people and observations, Nyx had pieced together a fair amount.
There was a laugh while Leia mentioned about getting her gossip news from her. "Sure, any time." He laughed again, taking nothing from it. "Does it really? The time line in which Tony comes from, he hadn't achieved his final calling." Nyx explained. "Only when someone from his universe later in his future showed up to explain his outcome, did he learn it." Leaning on the bar raising his brows in a knowing way. "So, in theory he's not at the fresh start point, he's at the if he doesn't go back, his world is just done." Nyx shrugged. "That's the point I was making in the multiple timelines, universes, and lines." He sighed. "We could spend a whole lot of time debating this topic, and be no closer to an answer." Nyx poured more into both of their glasses. "The only answer we have, is the one in front of us.." He paused obviously the liquor poking at his mind. "Not answer, but question." Nyx raised his finger with a finger as he acknowledge his almost slip up. "What are we to do with our time here? Be miserable or accept the circumstances."
With a hearty laugh, Nyx responded. "Yes. In some ways, yes." Nyx nodded. "Isn't it human nature to seek certain comforts in someone else?" Nyx shrugged. "Have you not gotten close to anyone here?"
While she offered her condolences on his efforts, Nyx shook his head. "No. It wasn't for the best necessarily. I will treasure the time I spent with Carol, despite our feelings not being on the same level." The Glaive offered a soft smile. "It is far better to feel, and lose - than to never. It's those we feel for, those we associate with, and those we grow close to that help define us as people." Nyx looked up in thought. "Of course, life events but one could make an argument that it's all tied together."
