There was an acknowledging hum to Nyx. They were going to be at this impasse. She was going to refuse the concept that their was a path they had been sent down. Of course, Nyx didn't believe it was a straight line, but more branches in which they could follow down. So, not set path but more set path to specific decisions. Truly, fate or destiny or whatever you wanted to call it was a fickle and very confusing thing.
"It's an insanely complex matter, if you consider it." Nyx commented. "So many uncertainties at hand, and no particular method in testing the different theories. We haven't had someone disappear and come back so we can't say for sure any direction on what is happening." Leaning on the bar, Nyx smiled. "Nothing but curious theories and speculations. I just choose to believe people are not dying." Nyx sighed softly. "Of course, it doesn't hurt the pain one might feel on the disappearance, but we can only keep moving." Straightening up, he let his smirk fall in place.
The huff legitimately made Nyx laugh. The huff really said it all. "Yes, before coming here, the world where I come I am dead." He held a finger up to show his statement wasn't finished. "BUT, I didn't die. I came here, so who are we to say if I was sent back I would continue to be dead." It was more a challenge to the norm. "Such as if you get sent back, you get sent back to the world you left." It was the point he was trying to make. Nothing about this was normal and the normal possibilities of what was to be, been, or possible. "But, I will play by your simple rules for now. Here is life, there is death."
"What I can tell you is, Tony has accepted his place and moved forward with life. Back in his world there is a wife and little girl." There was a pause. "And die saving the universe." Holding his hand up. "His destiny." There was a pause. "Then there is that woman I almost hit with a baseball during the fourth of July game. She was supposed to be getting married, very alive and possibly in love. She's now living and involved with that flame guy with the temper." He thought for a moment at any other examples. "Carol." His tone was somber, the wound obviously still there. The place he was standing was where he met with her often where Leia was sitting. Weird. "She, only wished to return." Nyx's eyes landed on Leia pointedly. "Having love there she had left behind for duty and honor." Nyx tapped the bar. "She was hooking up with Constantine."
There was a deep breath. "Yes, some have things left behind, but for most of us, life is too short to stand stagnant avoiding things." He smiled, because not everyone got what he was delivered which was his princess. "Sometimes, you just have to live in the now." He pointed at himself. "And go swimming in a hot spring with a woman you were never going to end up with." A reference to the time him and Carol found Iceland and their springs. Nyx held his hands up. "But that's just the opinion on the drinking bartender."
