WHO: Gwen Stacy (Earth-65) and Sirius Black WHAT: Gwen found a skate board! Look out! WHERE: Courtyard in town WHEN: Tuesday afternoon RATING: Low
Ever since the kind of mass disappearance around town, Gwen had slowed down a little bit. Sometimes, she let herself forget. She drifted into a safe haven mindset where it felt like Starklandia was normal. She let herself sort of believe she'd always been there, she'd always known everyone there, and that it was just the way things were. Or at least, it was the way things were always going to be. There were so many things that they were still clueless about despite having several brilliant minds all over town. It would be easy to have an anxiety induced panic attack over the fact that there was so much they didn't know about what or who brought them there and what happened when you were plucked out of town and basically disappeared. Did you die? Did you go back home? What happened when you got there?
Yeah. Gwen avoided those thoughts because they were way too scary and devastating to consider. But sometimes, when people disappeared? It hit a little harder than any punch she'd ever taken from a foe. It happened when Jan was gone. That one really hit her hard. Losing Flash before that had been kind of a hard hit too, even though he hadn't been around long. Miles leaving, well, that was a hard one. He'd been her friend and she knew that he'd really liked her. Probably in a different way than she'd liked him but that didn't really matter. He was someone she cared about and they'd been through it here. He'd been part of their Spiderling Family, which unfortunately was seriously dwindling with now just her, youngling Pete and Alpha Peter representing the Web Heads. Where had Miles gone? Home? She hoped so. The alternatives were too terrible to think about and she was trying really hard not to go there. Not just because of those who were already gone, but what about those who were still here? Gwen couldn't even begin to fathom what it would feel like if she ever lost Tony. That -- no, she couldn't go there even in her subconscious.
So she'd slowed down. Not going through the doors quite as often to look or supplies like she had been. But clothing options were finite and the seasons were gonna change soon so she figured she needed to get some appropriate seasonal clothes to stock up at Van Dyne's. Q-Tee, her folding AI she'd built with Mr. Stark was sitting way too idle so she was hoping to stock up on lots of scarves and thick scarves for it to fold.
Her most recent trip hadn't yielded too much by way of clothes, but she did find a skateboard. It'd never been something she'd done a lot of back home but she'd seen it, thought it'd be fun, and took it back with her. So far, she was doing pretty well with it and she totally attributed it to her Spidey-powers because otherwise she probably would've fallen on her face. As it was, she could now sling herself up into the air with her webbing and come back down on the ground with it and coast a good ways.
Having been given her old smart phone for some reason (along with a pretty heartbreaking photo album that she kept hidden under her bed), Gwen had her earbuds in and was listening to some 1990's Punk she had stored on it. It was a little stereotypical but Gwen was also a basic white girl who enjoyed pumpkin spice lattes. She just kind of embraced the stereotypes.
