Sam had been in this place for a few days. Long enough that he was feeling the lack of common comforts like coffee. He wasn't a big coffee drinker, but he liked a hot cuppa once in a while. Especially when he didn't sleep well, and he wasn't. He definitely wasn't sleeping well. How could he?

He had a vague idea where he was. But no idea why. Or how. Or where his brother was. He had been without Dean nearby a few times in his life. It never went well for him. He and Dean were a unit. He was okay for a while, but eventually he just wasn't as efficient without his brother to fall back on. Dean was nowhere in sight, though, so Sam had to trudge through on his own.

He could, and he would. He was certainly capable. He just didn't like it.

Spotting someone within reasonable distance, Sam jogged to catch up to him. He carried a gun and a knife too, but didn't reach for either. He didn't want to pull a weapon without cause. That was Dean's way, not Sam's. "Hey. Hi. Do you happen to know here I might find coffee?" he asked. Coffee was hardly a priority, but it was what Sam chose to focus on at the moment.

And oh boy, Sam could not have picked a better person to ask about coffee.

Clint was carrying a little bucket of water in one hand and as ever, had his bow and quiver strapped across his back. He hadn't needed to shoot at anything since he'd arrived beyond some animals for dinner, but that didn't mean he wasn't forever ready. His bow may as well have been a comfort blanket, especially in a place like this.

"Coffee?" He asked, perking up a little, despite the fact that this guy was a very tall perfect stranger he didn't know from Adam. That seemed to be a pretty common theme these days, anyway. "Oh. Man. Dude. I know exactly where you can get coffee. From the coffee shop. Well, my coffee shop. Well, my and my friend Kate. But I dunno where she is. Probably not the point. C'mon, I'll make you a cup."

The longer he stayed here the worse he got at basic social interaction, apparently.

"If you're making me a cup, I'll follow you anywhere." Sam realised that probably wasn't the smartest thing to say, because it could mean any number of things. But he was fairly certain he could handle himself if he was led into trouble. He had always managed in the past.

Just because he was somewhere else, and without Dean running backup didn't mean he couldn't get out of a jam if he had to. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that. At the moment, the promise of coffee felt worth the risk, and he really would follow this guy anywhere.

"Name's Sam, by the way." He figured names were a good start.

Clint gave a lopsided sort of smile over that declaration, because Sam was clearly a man after his own heart when it came to coffee right now and he could get behind that. It was a thing. "Glad to have such firm loyalty," he said, gesturing with his free hand to a building not that far off. It wasn't labeled or anything, but it looked like ought to be a store anyway. Clint was thinking about hunting around for some paint or something to make a sign. "We're just going over there."

With a bucket of water. To make coffee with. God he missed proper plumbing the most. Like, he never realized how much he'd been taking it for granted before now.

"I'm Clint. How new are you?"
