Well, Claire got John pretty much perfect. John was too much an asshole to really deal with the niceties and sugarcoating. Sure, Kitty was sort of the exception to the rule, but everyone else pretty much got the same from him. So Claire was in good company if she just wanted to talk and get the unfiltered opinion that she desired - because John was many things and one of those was opinionated.
It was tough. Granted it was on top of many different things. His suit arriving, along with the Senator Kelly campaign office taking over his house, and then the invites? It was a lot in the span of a half hour. But, the marriage thing could have had less an impact if he had known - though him and Kitty found their footing and were better for it. "At first I wanted to destroy things." John admitted as he looked to his turtle tooling about with them. "We wanted to, so we did." He then looked to Claire. "Do you want to." He asked, and before she could answer he added. "That's a yes or no question."
Though, Claire made a mention of they secretly wanted to do it. John stopped and looked at Claire, and laughed right in her face basically. Not the 'ha ha' type. A real, loud laugh. Through his laugh he managed to speak. "Things I've learned in life. Marvel, she does what she wants. If she wanted it, it wouldn't be a secret." His laugh continued. "I don't know the spider, but he doesn't seem like he'd settle for secrets." John shrugged. "Ultimately, you got a choice to make." John encouraged stopping again.
"What is it Claire. You talking it out with Spider-Douche or are you crashing on mine and Kitty's couch?"
