What: Their Vegas trip turns into an Alien Attack!

Peter had one hell of a hang over, and the details of the night before were more than a little bit foggy. The details of which would no doubt start filtering back to him slowly over time. But as he looked out on the early morning sunrise over the strip he frowned looking out over the horizon.

There were lights, and not just the Vegas lights, not the neon of casinos and spot lights encouraging people to come out and spend their nights and days throwing away their money, but hovering lights, that were rapidly approaching. But even that wasn't enough to really clue him in - not until the first laser beam shot out of one of the ships (they were ships!) and blasted the replica Eiffel Tower did Peter get it.

They were under attack, here of all places. Hung over and not at all dressed for the occasion. This was his punishment he thought, for what he and Carol had gotten up to since their arrival.

"Come on! Move move move!" Peter was already moving, he might not have the suit and well he might not be from here but he wasn't about to let people get hurt.

[OOC Note: Okay, this is being run as a standard party thread, just use your headers in whatever threads you start, feel free to punch an alien or run and hide, save the princess, or steal in the middle of the chaos, whatever your little heart desires. And most of all have fun!]

The last thing he wanted was a squashed anyone, so really he was doing himself the bigger favor saving her. And it allowed him to take a moment to take stock of the situation they were dealing with. It was a mess, it reminded him a little bit of some of the attacks on the Academy, sure not quite as organize as some of those had been, but he was no stranger to invasion.

"One of those casino shops is bound to have a sporting section." He said when she asked about a bow and arrows. He thought about it, he'd spent some time shopping the night before. "I think I saw some last night." He told her after a moment of thought.

"You up for a lift?" He asked her, or else he was just gonna have to fly ahead and let her follow, but either way he could make it work.

"Yeah?" Kate brightened considerably at the mention of a sporting section in the casino shop. That was good news. Especially since she was pretty much useless without weapons. Not totally useless, but she did a whole lot more damage with a bow an arrow than with her fists.

"Definitely up for a lift!" She called out. Something about this version of Iron Man reminded her of Iron Lad. Kate stepped up onto the ledge of the building's pillar, then jumped up into the air and reached for his hand. A running start never hurt anyone, right?

"Cool," Tony flew down as she pulled herself up and then jumped catching her outstretched hand easily and flying down the main strip to the casino he'd been in earlier and dropping her by the entrance.

"You've gotta get past the slot machines and it's off to your right." He told her thinking back. Sure this wasn't exactly how he'd pictured this fight going but he could handle it, rolling with the punches as it were.

"I'll keep watch out here while you go get what you need, make sure nothing is coming up behind you."

Kate landed easily when Tony dropped her near the entrance and she gave him a quick thumbs-up and a smile. "To the right. Thanks! Be right back."

Hopefully with the two of them working together, they could help a lot of people and stay alive and safe. Relatively safe. Though Kate surrounded herself with superheroes who were often incredibly strong and sometimes invulnerable, she was far from being so. And Iron Man had that amazing suit that made him way more powerful and a lot tougher than she was.

Kate had to fight her way through some panicked people, and then raided the sporting goods store. She ignored some of the questions from the other patrons and the complaints of the employees and came out carrying a ridiculous amount of equipment. Or, kind of ridiculous. She had a lot of people to protect with her compound bow and dozens of arrows.

"There's a lot of scared people in there," she said once she reached the sidewalk outside again. "You ready to kick some alien tail?"

There were a couple of aliens who had made their way down to the ground and Tony took them out easily, not really eager to let them kind of wander and do more damage than the ships were doing as it was. Thankfully it didn't seem like too many ships - which small blessing all things considered, but enough that Tony was glad for it.

Too many more and they might have been overwhelmed, but as it was there were several super heroes on vacation in town today of all days so they probably had a handle on this.

"Better in there than out here though," Tony reasoned when Kate made her way back out again this time with a shiny new bow. "I was born ready," He huffed with a small grin. "Let's do this."

And with that they were off, back to it again.
