Who: You! If you wanna be there!
What: Their Vegas trip turns into an Alien Attack!
Where: Las Vegas, Alternate dimension of some sort.
When: The next day

Peter had one hell of a hang over, and the details of the night before were more than a little bit foggy. The details of which would no doubt start filtering back to him slowly over time. But as he looked out on the early morning sunrise over the strip he frowned looking out over the horizon.

There were lights, and not just the Vegas lights, not the neon of casinos and spot lights encouraging people to come out and spend their nights and days throwing away their money, but hovering lights, that were rapidly approaching. But even that wasn't enough to really clue him in - not until the first laser beam shot out of one of the ships (they were ships!) and blasted the replica Eiffel Tower did Peter get it.

They were under attack, here of all places. Hung over and not at all dressed for the occasion. This was his punishment he thought, for what he and Carol had gotten up to since their arrival.

"Come on! Move move move!" Peter was already moving, he might not have the suit and well he might not be from here but he wasn't about to let people get hurt.

Loki / Thor

Comparing Copperfield to Loki was an insult beyond measure, frankly. All tricks from sleight of hand and no real magic at all and Loki would more than happily give his opinion on the matter if asked. Of course, Thor absolutely knew that. If it wasn't their job to go out of their way to be obnoxious asses to each other, Loki might actually be mad about it.

But now wasn't the time for that. Now was the time for something much better.

"Why ever would you think I'd let you have all the glory, Brother?" He asked, gaze as sharp as his smile and both were nearly flirtatious even as he plucked a second knife out of thin air. "I bet I fell more than you before it's all ended."

Of course Thor wold make comparisons. It was one of those things written into their brotherly code. Bitching, poking, jabbing, stabbing, all of it was just.. mostly signs of love in a way that was unique to them. If they evert stopped paying attention to each other, that was when there was cause to worry.

Thor snorted in laughter at Loki's comment. "You think you can best me? I highly doubt that." They were both highly skilled fighters but they had a very different style of going about it. They'd both been itching for something like this, for reasons that were their own, and now they were being allowed to stretch their legs so to speak.

It took him a moment of holding out his arm but eventually Storm Breaker found its way to his hand. He started to channel lightning down from the clouds through he axe and his body. "Come brother, let us see how many we shall take in victory!" He called before he flew up and brought the force of his power down to where a gathering of the aliens were trying to charge at a building, obliterating them all.

"I know I could best you," Loki corrected smartly. It probably wasn't so -- everything always depended on how a fight was being conducted to know whether or not it would be Thor or Loki who came out on top. Technically Loki might have been more powerful. But not in combat.

Thor though -- when he was on, really on, it was something spectacular to see. And Loki had to stop himself from really taking a moment to admire how good his brother looked when he was being confident in his skills and not sulking and skulking around their house. Loki smiled, a secret crooked little thing.

But then he was bursting into action as well, teleporting here and there, his daggers plentiful and well aimed. These aliens didn't seem particularly highly skilled by they were large in number and their weaponry had the potential to be dangerous if anyone was caught by it.

The two of them had different styles of fighting, which was probably why if they ever got their shit together and fought for the same purpose, they'd be unstoppable. Loki had abilities that went far beyond what Thor could do, and vice versa depending on the situation at hand.

Thor was in his element now. If ever there was a reason for him to be arrogant, it was his ability to rush into battle and actually make shit happen. Even if he'd failed to kill Thanos, he'd taken down plenty of his army. Before that, years ago, he'd gone into battle for the most foolish of reasons at the Jotunheim but he'd dealt plenty of damage there too. He didn't know how to navigate his grief, but put him in battle and he knew exactly what to do.

As Loki assessed, Thor was doing much the same. No, these aliens weren't physically very strong but their weapons were definitely lethal. He'd managed to counter some sort of energy ray with a bolt of lightning but he was sure if it had hit a person they would've been obliterated. "Loki, have you seen this race of beings before in your travels? I have not," he called out to his brother. He dove downward in in a burst of lightning and took out another grouping of them.

This would be good for Thor, Loki knew. Or already was doing good. At least in the moment -- Thor moved fluidly, confidently. He knew what he was doing and there was no doubt in him at all.

Loki would use this image later for more than scheming, and felt very little shame in that thought.

Where Thor charged in, Loki did the opposite -- he teleported, he melted into the shadows and appeared from other ones, nearly always going for the element of either surprise and backstabbing rather than facing the invaders face to face. He wasn't wholly opposed to it, but it wasn't really his style either. Some might call it dishonorable -- Loki simply called it smart.

"Never," he shouted back before teleporting himself to his brother's side. "They look like a Midgardian stereotype." Which was curious.

Thor found it very strange that in all their centuries of living, all their time spent traveling the realms, they'd never come across this species or race of beings these creatures were. They weren't really all that intimidating; they just had powerful weapons and they had a habit of shouting at each other in a crude way. Surely all those who were fighting them had faced far worse.

He wanted to find a way to end them; to take out the source but he wasn't sure where that was yet. That wasn't usually his play. Someone else tended to figure that out then told him what it was and he used his power to destroy it.

As Loki came to his side, Thor found himself feeling another surge of adrenaline. He liked this; he was born for this, even more than perhaps he was born to be a king. And fighting beside Loki was what he had always wanted more than anything. "They are ridiculous, but persistent. And seem to be very angry." Thor took his eyes off the scene unfolding before them to look Loki up and down briefly. His adrenaline was sparking more within him than the urge to fight. Another verb starting with the same letter came to mind. "Let us finish this. We are the most equipped to do so."

Loki'd seen a lot, and it was a little weird he hadn't seen this race of being before either, but it wasn't unheard of, he supposed. He'd been around but Asgard itself wasn't exactly a hub for travel.

But really, it didn't matter all that much. They were invading and that was generally frowned upon so Loki and Thor would take care of it and everyone else could say they helped later. The brothers wouldn't demand credit.

If only because they would be very occupied elsewhere.

It wasn't like Loki missed the way Thor was looking at him. He smiled, sharp and a little predatory. "Let's," he agreed, twirling a dagger. "After you, dearest."
