What: Their Vegas trip turns into an Alien Attack!

Peter had one hell of a hang over, and the details of the night before were more than a little bit foggy. The details of which would no doubt start filtering back to him slowly over time. But as he looked out on the early morning sunrise over the strip he frowned looking out over the horizon.

There were lights, and not just the Vegas lights, not the neon of casinos and spot lights encouraging people to come out and spend their nights and days throwing away their money, but hovering lights, that were rapidly approaching. But even that wasn't enough to really clue him in - not until the first laser beam shot out of one of the ships (they were ships!) and blasted the replica Eiffel Tower did Peter get it.

They were under attack, here of all places. Hung over and not at all dressed for the occasion. This was his punishment he thought, for what he and Carol had gotten up to since their arrival.

"Come on! Move move move!" Peter was already moving, he might not have the suit and well he might not be from here but he wasn't about to let people get hurt.

[OOC Note: Okay, this is being run as a standard party thread, just use your headers in whatever threads you start, feel free to punch an alien or run and hide, save the princess, or steal in the middle of the chaos, whatever your little heart desires. And most of all have fun!]

Aliens! Cool. Cool cool cool cool -- oh. Not all that abnormal, honestly.

Well, the invasion thing was kinda crappy, but Quill had to admit he'd seen it all before. Good for him and everyone else, he was hella armed already -- his two usual blasters in his hands and his brand new one on his belt, too. Because why not have three?

Oh, and rocket boots. But he always had those too. It made it easy, so easy, to zoom past who he assumed was the half bar owner of Pancho's who also might be Sonny Bono now, but like, also spiderman?

"Eye on the sky, buddy," he said, blasting at some of that debris to break it up into smaller and less lethal bits. "There'll be no turnin' back time if you get clobbered by rocks!"

"I can't believe you'd say those words to me." He scoffed as Peter both warned him and was really awful and managed to work some Cher lyrics into the middle of a battle situation. It really was terrible of him.

The rocket boots were cool though, Peter could use something like that. As it was the webs were all he had to work with and they weren't quite as springy here as they were back home, probably something to do with the dry heat - but he had enough of them to pull himself out of the way of falling debris and up onto a roof top to gain a new perspective now that they'd gotten the majority of the civilians off the street.

"What's the plan?" He called out, not sure if they had one now that they'd gotten the basics taken care of, other than fighting off the aliens however they could. Which was fine, Peter could handle that. But a bigger plan might have made him feel a little bit better about things.

If anyone was going to make an old music reference, it was gonna be Peter Quill. And he wasn't sorry for it, not even a little bit. He only grinned and turned his attention back to blasting at alien ships, doing a few fun loop de loops in the process. It'd been some time since he'd seen some action -- of this variety, anyway.

"Plan?' He called back, stalling slightly in the air and glancing back over his shoulder at Alpha Peter. "Well --" Oh, look, more things to shoot. He did that for a sec all while he let the wheels turn in his head. "Sometimes -- you know. There's a mother ship."

Honestly Peter preferred dealing with guys like Lizard and Doc Ock at least they made sense, these aliens made no sense at all - with their weird heads and the screaming and the dumb ships. it was like something out of a movie. And not a particularly good movie at that. And he might have said as much after he punched another one of these guys in the helmet.

And then Quill was saying something about a mother ship like that was a plan? "What? And then what? We give a cold?" Peter asked because talk about something out of a movie - what were they gonna do with a mother ship and which one was the mother ship? And even if they knew which one was it then what? He was too hung over to deal with this.
