Leia Organa // Galen Marek
She was out on the street as quickly as she could get there, by then the damage was already clear, smoke rising from the sides of buildings, gaping holes and piles of burning rubble left behind. The blasts continued again and again, setting landmarks alight and throwing debris crashing to the ground, once lit signs sparking and shorting as they were destroyed. There were residents of the city all around, in panic and Leia didn’t immediately spot anyone she recognised - or ..felt, as such, though she wasn’t entirely trained to use her abilities in this situation, not yet.
But that was fine, she’d never needed the Force in battle before.
She couldn’t help but wish she’d tucked either of her weapons away somewhere - she’d been too relaxed, thoughtless it seemed now. Added to the fact she was still dressed in the clothing she’d worn the evening before to dinner, hardly practical at all in this situation, but she couldn't care about her finery being ruined, even if it was of an Alderaanian vintage. A battle and she was in a kriffing dress, see this is why she preferred near anything else. Without a weapon, she wasn’t equipped to fight, but she could help, she could do something - getting civilians off the streets would be it. Panic was human nature, especially if combat wasn’t something they were more accustomed to - and it could drive people to freeze as equally as it could drive them to flee. As she hurried down the street, encouraging anyone she saw to keep moving away from the street and toward cover.
“Come on- you’ve got to get out of here.” She’d found a group of three, huddled. With some coercion they half-stood, hunched as Leia moved in beside them, careful to punctuate her instructions by gesturing where to go, looking to be sure they understood. “We’re going to head this way- away from this area and take cover as we go.” The attack seemed centralised, but there was no way of telling yet - regardless, huddled behind a still vehicle in the road was not a safe place to be. “This way first.” she indicated, again pointing and moving them on with her.
When the blast hit the car, they were fortunate to have made enough distance to only be thrown by the shock-wave. Leia didn’t remember so much about hitting the ground, or how long she was there for, just that her ears were ringing, loudly and her head was pounding as she lifted it to try and see any of the civilians around her. As Leia tried to lift herself on her arms, a searing pain ripped through her left shoulder and she crumpled again, a red laser bolt sailing right by her head - a foreign, barking sort of ‘Ack ack’ sound, a language she’d never heard before some distance behind her. With gritted teeth, Leia made to scramble to her feet, still concerned about the people she'd been with.
