Bucky Barnes / Steve Rogers (MCU)
There was lots of great love stories, but the stories told more rarely were that of friendship and devotion. Sure theirs was more complicated than that, things blurred, like they had a habit of doing when you'd gone through puberty and a hundred years of things together. In the end they found their way back together and they rebuilt, nothing they did alone was something they couldn't work through together. But this was their biggest challenge now, making room for other people in their lives. Steve hadn't been able to keep Bucky where he had been, filling his entire chest so he couldn't breathe, not when what he wanted was Tony and he knew it had been the same for him. Tony and Clint weren't some kind of stand in and Steve and Bucky had been careful to make sure what they had with the men in their lives was the priority knowing time would sort them out in the end. Just like it always did.
Steve hadn't been expecting that and his eyebrows raised, but after a moment surprise gave way to something a little warmer. He liked Clint, he was spontaneous and fun and for the first time in a long time it was like Bucky was back to who he'd been before the war. The kid from Brooklyn who might do something like get married on a whim.
"Of course," Steve said with a nod. "Yeah, of course," he added more seriously. Because he wouldn't miss that, not for anything in the world. To get to be there for that was a once in a lifetime thing and Steve wasn't about to miss out. "You got rings? Do we need to go get something? A suit?" He asked, a grin on his face now. "Maybe a haircut."
