Bucky Barnes / Steve Rogers (MCU)
Bucky would always love Steve. That was just the way the world worked, no matter what world they were in. The type of love that it was could change, and had, a number of times over the course of close to a hundred years. But the love itself, rooted from a deep devotion to each other was always going to be there. Bucky would never hide or deny that. He'd not really ever sat down and had a deep discussion with Clint about it but he also hadn't kept it a secret, either. Steve was always going to be in his life, he was always going to be important to him, and they had a bond that probably no one else was going to get. Just like he and Clint had a bond that was for the two of them, and Steve and Tony had their connection that belonged to them.
"I'm glad you're happy here too, Steve," he said. "It's what I want for you, all I've ever wanted for you." And that was the absolute truth. Ever since they were little kids, he'd always tried to make sure Steve was happy. Whatever he could do to make his best friend laugh when he was sick, or get a smile out of him after they'd both come out of a fight with some jackass bully Steve had stood up to, or whatever the case was. "I'm glad you're here. That we both are. It'd be a lot harder for me to not feel so conflicted about wanting to stay if you weren't here too. The you I know, I mean." He was friends with the other Steve, but this Steve was his. Their hearts belonged to two other men but they still had a hold on each other in their friendship.
