Steve / Tony
Steve had never taken the time to build anything before, he hadn't had the time or the inclination. When he'd been young he and Bucky had shared that tiny apartment, made themselves a family out of cobbled pieces and that was all Steve had known. The strange places they'd ended up had given them the freedom to start again, to actually work on building strong foundations, even if Steve had made them a little rocky at first. But they'd laid them all the same and now as they built, Steve actually felt confident in them, in their little family. Tony was his person and it didn't get much better than that.
He actually admired how Tony hadn't gone out of his mind in the first few days. He was a person who was always busy, had ten things going on at once and being forced to slow down seemed a recipe for madness. Although there always did seem to be something to keep them from relaxing into the mundane.
Gosh how he loved when Tony looked at him, those long lingering glaces that he got to read into. He had the most expressive eyes Steve had ever seen and now he was getting better at reading them. "You were checking me out?!" Steve asked voice laced with mock scandal.
