Crichton/Babs
"He likes what he does." And she was proud of him mostly. He'd made some choices along the line that she hadn't really agreed with, but for the most part she knew that her dad was only ever looking out for the well being of Gotham and it's citizens. Her included. "It's not the easiest job in the world but he's pretty dedicated."
It was a lot really, her family and probably not really like date material when it came to easy conversation. But not much about her life was really. Whether it was relationships or her family, or the bat or anything else. It was better that she didn't share that kind of stuff with people, no one needed to know about those darker parts of her life.
It turned out she was pretty eager to see the buffet too and Barbara took a little while to pick out what she liked as well, trying little bits from all the different areas things she hadn't eaten in so long and when they made it back to the table they both had fairly full plates.
She laughed when he said it had been a long time, "That's why we picked the buffet right? So we could try it all in one go." She reminded him. And as she had her first bite of macaroni and cheese Barbara was so glad they'd picked this place. "Okay yes, this is what I've been missing. I can't remember the last time I had this." And when she thought about it she realized it must have been even longer for him, sure hers might have been months a year or two at most but for John? Well that was harder to say.
"So are you liking being back on Earth?" She asked, "Well not Earth Earth, but something like it?"
