"But a good-looking asshat," Carol laughed and shrugged. "But I don't blame you. I never felt comfortable in a dress anymore- not sure I can pull it off, either." Maybe she could, but she'd still feel awkward. Carol had been in dresses before, but that was the 80s. And...that was one of the things about it that seemed blurry. Plus skirts were impractical in space.
Carol sipped her drink. "Liquid, but I think Pete and I might hit the buffet later. Probably after I take these guys for all their worth." She wasn't that good at cards, but she did have confidence. That went a long way in poker.
"Touche', Mayor. But it's cute, you two. Gives the rest of us hope for true love." Again, she was kidding. Sort of.
