Valkyrie | Klaus
"Yes and no," Klaus shrugged, he admitted. Because there was no real skill to this particular game, and yet he certainly had better luck than many of the people who played. And so he took that as something that was uniquely him - whether that came down to his abilities or something else he wasn't sure.
"I think that's part of the appeal of this particular game," Klaus agreed nodding. "And you can feel like you're especially skilled when you do manage a big win." He told her, "Everyone loves an excuse to pretend like they know exactly what they're talking about, especially when they manage to get a big win out of it at the same time." It was like a double win really, Klaus was a little less concerned with the first. He didn't really care what people thought about his skills or his theories on which numbers would be better than others - truth be told he didn't care what others thought at any point, so this was just no different.
The winning was what really mattered.
And he'd done plenty of that already, he was mostly just showing off for Valkyrie at the moment. "Exactly." Klaus agreed when she asked about any idiot could play. "That's usually the type this sort of game attracts." He agreed with a breezy sort of wave of his hand like he didn't notice the man behind them grumbling about idiots being allowed inside. "People without enough skill for even the simplest of card games. You find a lot of self important people around these tables." He told her in a stage whisper, like it was just for her to hear but loud enough that everyone at the table overheard as he laid down a few more stacks of chips seemingly at random.
