Anthony J Crowley: Vaguely Sauntering Downward (_crowley_) wrote in snapthread,
There'd been less to see back then, back when everything was starting. But it'd all been new so of course it'd felt like more -- more interesting, more exploring. Sometimes Crowley missed it, the excitement of not knowing, or learning new things with Aziraphale -- who was still ardent about learning, but it was different now.
This place -- for it's lack of crepes and convenience stores -- Starklandia, it was sort of like going back to those older times because there were new things to see and do again. Although now it felt like it was at a higher cost. They'd really just saved the world. It felt like a waste to have to give it up now.
But at least they still had each other.
"It doesn't feel right," Crowley pointed out. "This isn't ours. But it's a place. A new place. So it's best we give it a look-see, isn't it?" He offered his hand, palm up. "C'mon, then. Maybe there's a little city. Maybe that city has a dessert made of dates or wine." It was always easier to keep Aziraphale's spirits up when mentioning food.
