Danny raised an eyebrow. She certainly looked as if she hadn't been up long. He wouldn't discount her denial, however. Not quite yet. He wrinkled his nose, but yawned after he did. Contagious, those things. He slowly dragged his fingers through his hair, and took the mug in his other hand.
He hip checked her as he went to pour the water into his mug. Contact came easily to him, was something he sought without thinking about it. He rolled his eyes, and idly dunked the bag into the water as he watched her pour coffee.
"Black as midnight on a moonless night," he quoted with a chuckle. "I know, I know. It's just - bitter. Or too sweet when people add things to it. I don't know. I know some stuff I like others can't stand, so. Though I guess butter tea isn't really popular in Manhattan."
His smile turned small, his gaze warm as he let the tea steep.
"Thank you for having me over, Kate. I really appreciate the company."
