Remus / Thirteen
One would think that it only made sense that every person should be treated with dignity simply for being human. Or that everyone should be given the benefit of the doubt before they are judged. That just wasn't realistic. Looping everyone within a certain group together and treating them all the same way wasn't fair, but that was life. Remus was not like other werewolves, and he knew that there were plenty more like him who shied away from the violence and blood lust.
"People tend to fear what they don't understand, and harbor resentment toward what they fear. Logically, it only makes sense. If they can discriminate and put down the things they fear, then it gives them power. It isn't fair, but it is reality. But here, no one has judged me. Even when faced with the danger, it seems most people just wanted to help. It means so much, knowing that," Remus said.
It made him smile a bit when she said she wanted to help if they ever made it back. The truth was, he didn't think he wanted to go back. Not to a world where his best friends were dead and his soulmate was locked in prison for something he didn't do. The only way he'd want to go back was if he could prove to those he needed to that Sirius was innocent.
"Thank you," he said. "And thank you for wanting to help me."
