Barbara | Crichton
Barbara couldn't help laughing as she watched John struggle with the knowledge that she'd just dropped on him. She hid her grin behind her glass as he took another sip of her drink. "It's crazy how things like that happen. It just seems like it was a little while ago and then you stop and think about it and it was a lot further back than that." Sure 30 years back was well before her time, so it wasn't the same sort of visceral reaction to it that John had but she got it.
Yeah magic was strange, it didn't matter if it was some big show of it or something smaller like refilling drinks. All of it was a little bit of a surprise every time she saw it. "Use to it?" She asked and shook her head. "No, no I don't think I'll ever get used to things like this." She admitted.
"Where I'm from - we have a lot of weird tech, a lot of colorful people using it all, but it's nothing like this place." Sure it made it a little bit easier to accept that magic was a thing, that she hadn't just lost her mind when she showed up here, but that didn't mean that suddenly she was entirely aware of and understanding magic. It still took her by surprise at times.
