She wasn't sure why she was surprised, but when he answered her she looked over at him, the corners of her mouth lifting into a small smile. Yeah. He was right. It definitely could be good. There was always the lingering in the back of her mind, though. They weren't sure how long they'd be there or what it would mean for any kind of future, but they'd just have to make do, right?
Carol leaned over, kissing his cheek and pulling away again with that same grin on her face. "So does this mean I have to clear out an overnight drawer for you now?" There it was. She couldn't just let it be without a hint of sarcasm.
But her obvious joy was painted pretty clearly on her face.
