Who: Peter Parker and Shuri
Where: Coffee for some coffee
When: Wednesday - afternoon
What: Story swapping and introductions
Rating: Lowish
Status: Ongoing and Closed

Peter dropped from the roof, landing securely on the pathway below. Traveling through the air continued to be the faster way to move for Peter, whether it was by web or by jumping from roof to roof, so thus the reason he fell from the sky. Dressed in a simple black t-shirt and a pair of jeans, Peter led himself into the coffee shop, aptly named Coffee, and made his way towards the counter to order a drink. A plan had been set up, and Peter was supposed to meet Shuri here to swap stories about their respective worlds, and let her know about his experiences dimension hopping at times.

Once ordered, he waited a moment for the coffee, then took it happily before making his way towards a table near one of the windows, dropping into the seat and taking a sip from said coffee, leaning back in the seat while he waited. He went to pull out his phone, but it didn't do a whole heck of a lot; without the internet there, distracting yourself with pointless memes and social media was impossible. So there was no point to the phone being pulled out at the moment, but it was something to do with his hands.

As he lightly sipped at his coffee, Peter began to let his mind wander, wondering if MJ and May were okay back home, as well as all of his other friends. He was and had been curious since arriving, if the thing that was happening to cause them to be here, was also causing problems at home, or pulling people away to other dimensions, were they okay? Were they safe? Were they scared? He knew worrying about it didn't help at all, but of course he couldn't help it. He was Peter Parker, worrying about people was what he did best and, some might say, worst as well.

He looked up a moment later towards the door and out the window to see if Shuri was there yet, not wanting to be rude and be on his useless phone when she arrived. He was also excited to talk to another brainiac. He supposed he didn't know if this one was as brainy as the one T'Challa had mentioned back in Peter's world countless of times, but he reasoned that she probably was.

Shuri was looking forward to meeting Peter. Well one of the Peter's, she would have time to meet the others she was sure. The thought of the multiverse being real was beyond exciting to her. There was so much to study and see and learn, she just had to work out a way to do that. With how backwards this place seemed to be, she imagined it would be awhile before she was fully up and running. The doors seemed like a useful tool though it was a shame that they couldn't return home. She still wondered if she could go to a version of her own world to get her equipment or some of it. She really wanted access to vibranium.

Dressed simply in jeans and a t-shirt, she made her way to Coffee where she had organised to meet Peter.

Spotting someone who she assumed was Peter as they were looking around for someone she waved, indicated she was going to order a coffee and made her way to the counter where she ordered herself a long black. Drink in hand, she approached the table. "Peter?" she asked hoping she was right and that it was him.

Peter looked up when Shuri approached and with her asking his name he figured that she was, in fact, Shuri. That and he didn't recognize her. Hopping to his feet he quickly held a hand out to shake hers, "Shuri. Good to meet you, and yes, sorry, I'm Peter. One of many, many Peters around here. I'm glad you could make it--not that there's much to keep us all too terribly busy around here."

He gestured towards the seat and sat down himself, "Coffee here's actually pretty good, so that's good. It definitely out does Starbucks or any of the others from home."

Once she was seated he smirked and raised a brow, "So what do you think of the place so far? It's a bit on the low-tech side, and definitely lacks for top notch entertainment sometimes, but it's quaint, and you get used to the smell of no garbage."

"Hi it's good to meet you," Shuri replied brightly, glad that it was in fact him that she had approached. It would have been incredibly awkward but she would have taken a chance to at least get to know him briefly before seeking out Peter. Thankfully she didn't need to do that right at this moment. Taking the seat across from him she nodded. "It smells good which is usually a good sign so fingers crossed I like it. I mean I survive on coffee sometimes so it would be good to have a source that is worth drinking," she said with a shrug.

"It's interesting. I'm going to die without access to the internet though. I've talked to Stark about that shared server he is working on which will be good it's just a matter of getting it up and running. I'm hoping to find some technology through the doors which will help but people seem to question whether that is doable but if the doors are unlimited I'm sure we could find a high tech place and bring things back eventually," she said with a shrug.

"Though yes it is very quaint. It took me by surprise at first. You settled in okay? I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my time here."

"You eat with your nose first, or is it your eyes? My ex used to watch those Food Channel shows all the time, and I remember the line, but also forget it--anyway. Right, it's very good, the smell's a good thing," He offered reluctantly, realizing it came out sounding a bit weird.

Peter then beamed, "Oh! Right, well I've actually been working on a way to try and get signals from other dimensions; currently, I've managed to pick up a couple songs here or there, and most of them are Hold On by Wilson Philips. But it's coming along. The problem is every time a door closes and opens, a new dimension opens and so the signal is very, very unstable."

He thought a moment, then shrugged, "You'd have to somehow find something capable of creating a fast enough connection that it could adapt quickly with each changing signal, so that it stays focused, but it's nearly impossible."

At her question, Peter nodded, "I've settled for the most part. Miss my friends and family back home, but I have managed to make a few friends here."

As Shuri listened her eyes lit up with delight at the pure endless possibilities that they could have.

"It's the eyes but yes," she said with a grin. "It is good that it smells good but," she said returning the bright smile. "That project sounds amazing and I really do hope you can get it working. I mean I can help if you want. Basically we need a way to keep the connection stable when the doors open and close. So we basically have to keep a door open all the time and connect the frequency to that door?" she rambled at him, her brain trying to figure out solutions while she talked.

"I'm glad you've made some friends. That is important. I hope to make plenty of friends here too," she admitted.

"That would help, but I also don't know what the ramifications would be of leaving the door open," Peter said, suddenly very focused on the project. Science talk. God he loved it, "Because if you leave it open too long, could it cause disease? Pollution? Instability with the dimension itself? Interdimensional doors being left open, I don't know. But... there's got to be something, somewhere, some... frequency that connects each and every single dimension together with this place, right? Since it's the one they all focus to..."

He then shook his head and realized he was getting too excited, "I'd absolutely love help with it really. If you're willing, it'd be great, and well yea, friends are nice in a place where we're all kind of shoved together to survive."

"What's the longest a door has stayed open?" she asked curious, excitement in her tone. Not only was it an interesting project it was science talk and she loved science talk. "Has there been any side effects of using the doors so far? " she asked curiously. "Though you're right this place has to have its own frequency so if we could figure that but and use that..." she trailed off. "We'd need the technology to do that and that's seriously lacking around here which is annoying," she grumbled.

"I'm totally willing to help though," she grinned. "I need something to do and it sounds like a fun project."

"As far as I know? Not sure, really. I know there was a time where all the doors opened into one universe, but it was several places within that one Universe. It was the Pokemon universe at that," thinking a moment, "And well there was a moment where we all got super sick, people that can't really get sick. Very recently. I'm not entirely sure that was due to the doors or not, it also seemed to coincide with a werewolf incident. I wouldn't be surprised if the doors had something to do with all of that..."

Peter trailed thinking on that, but not knowing for sure, "Oh, well, Tony has a lab with some decent tech. I've got a lab with less great tech, but it's got enough to be a rudimentary chem lab. We go on regular outings into the doors to scavenge things. Issue there is making stuff from one universe compatible with another universe's devices..."

He then chuckled, "I think you and I will get along well enough. Yea, it can get boring around here without a project."

"I missed out on Pokemon?!" Shuri exclaimed with a pout. "I'm sooooooo disappointed," she fake frowned. Before cheering up again. "What happens if we try and keep them all open for I don't know, fifteen minutes at least to begin with? We can slowly increase the time that they're open to see if there are any side effects? The cold could easily have been something that someone brought back from the Doors that no one has encountered before. You see that sort of thing a lot with Indigenous Races when others invade their countries," she mused.

"I'm hoping to set up my own lab here though it's going to take a long time to set it up I feel. If I can go through the doors to a version of my world or at least a version where my lab is that would be amazing," she admitted. "Easier than setting up things with scrap."

"I think so too. We're going to be awesome friends," she said with a grin.

"I have a Charmander, Hot Tamale, if you need to see some Pokemon. Some others have Pokemon as well, you'll love them. Promise. They're as cute and adorable in life as they are in game and TV form," Peter chuckled, and laughed at her frown, "I don't know. We can try that I guess. We'll have to get permission from Stark, so he can take the blame when it goes wrong. We'll do it anyway, but if we convince him to give us permission, it falls on his shoulders."

Peter joked, drinking from his coffee, and thought, "I don't know that anyone's tried something like that. I'd like to get some monitoring equipment up and monitor the doors if we did that though--and yea, not having my lab stuff here really makes this more difficult. Maybe we can go on a quest for Shuri's Lab Stuff. Operatin: Shuri Needs Science."

Peter nodded at the awesome friends thing and shrugged, "I think we'll pull it off quite well."

"Oh that's cool. I can't wait to meet all the Pokemon," she said with a smile. She was perhaps a bit to overly excited but she loved Pokemon and well who didn't? "I'm just glad that they're as cute as we're used too. It would be such a disapointment if they weren't." She wasn't sure if she could have handled that. "Sure do you know him? It might be better coming from someone he knows though of course I'd be happy to talk to him as well. With me being so new though he might not trust me not that I blame him," she shrugged.

"I'm all for this quest as long as we go on a Peter Quest to find the stuff you need too," she grinned delighted.
