Bucky's loyalty was always going to default to Steve, even when his best friend was acting like an idiot. Of course, Bucky would call Steve out on his bullshit in private because he'd be a bad friend if he didn't. But in front of other people, he'd defend Steve to the end. What he'd told Tony was exactly the way he felt. The two of them had to work on their shit and get it figured out. There was no way to move forward until they did. In turn, Bucky and Steve had to address their own issues and dig up the past in order to put it back to rest and move forward. They had, and in the end it seemed like things had worked out. Bucky had nothing to hold against Tony anymore if he and Steve were good with each other, and it was obvious that they were.
"I never really knew much about the first one," he said, talking about the original arm Zola had first designed that had been upgraded and worked on by a number of HYDRA scientists over the years. It'd been heavier than the vibranium arm Shuri had created for him, and was more robotic than fluid. He was sure there were plenty of other changes and differences too. "But it's different," he said. "The old one didn't feel as real as this one does. That probably doesn't make sense." He thought about how to reword it. "The old one felt like a weapon. This one, feels like an extension of me." Curious, he wondered if that was what it was like when Tony put on his Iron Man suit.
