This woman. She was going to be his downfall if he folded like a wet napkin when she was sobbing at him. He just couldn't be appropriately mad at her that way, not that John actually wanted to be mad at her. The world, yes, her... never. There was just this ridiculous rage that was always built so deep in him, that he could be set of with the right push. In this instance, there was one thing after the other that fueled his rage, and this was the outcome.
Holding her tight to him, John felt the flames around them slowly simmer out. Holding her right close to him allowing her to take her time to cry and scream into his chest as she needed to. "Shh-" John whispered petting her hair to smooth it out. "We're going to be fine." He hoped, but what was a relationship without a bump here or there. "I'm sorry, too." John whispered at her. "You're probably very disappointed in me." Which was the thing that made him even more incredibly angry. That he was disappointing her in someway because his fury lead to him going down the path of villainy again.
"We're going to be fine..." Pyro managed to choke out.
Shifting and breaking the hug, John put both of his hands on her face and made her look at him. Jesus, he was an asshole for making her cry. Wiping tears away, he then pressed his lips to hers in a heated kiss.
