Who: Madison (AHS) and Klaus (UA)
What: Meeting for cigarettes
When: Tuesday Evening
Where: The town square
Rating: Probably moderate for swearing

Really, should Madison have been surprised to discover when she'd died somehow a whole new kind of hell would be waiting for her? Maybe. This place at least promised cigarettes, even if some of the residents were a little annoying. And while she was dressed for the part of employee of the month, she was actually glad not to be waiting on the wrong end of the customer service desk when she'd woken up here.

But that still didn't make this place any less strange or bearable. Not yet. She just really, really needed a smoke then and there to calm her nerves. And maybe to try to wrap her mind around what was going on. As confident as Madison carried herself, she wasn't as unshaken as she appeared. If this wasn't Hell, what was this place? And who were these people? She wasn't convinced this wasn't some sort of mind-fuckery by Michael

It would be like him to toy with the coven before he murdered them all.

She was waiting with a tenseness in her shoulders that could only be described as rigid, she tried to carry herself with poise when she saw the man approach, her chin high, her eyes examining him. Great. Of course, she'd have to get her fix from the ghost of Johnny Rotten.

With the doors open once more Klaus had been able to restock his stores and get over a little bit of that itch that had started to rise up at the idea of being trapped here with no where to go. The idea of being trapped like that, in a place as small as this with nothing to entertain him had felt like bile rising up in the back of his throat, the fear of what that might mean leaving him ready to make a stupid choice without even really thinking about it.

But in the end he hadn't needed to get to that point, he'd been able to get back out and everything inside him had calmed down a little bit more after that. And he was back to his old self.

And now out of the goodness of his heart he was there to deliver cigarettes to their newest town member. Klaus sauntered down the street, not in a rush - it wasn't like it was a long way to go after all.

He'd lit up himself and was exhaling slowly when he saw their newest arrival, they always had that kind of look about them, like they knew for certain that they didn't belong there and that they needed some answers and a way out. Klaus wouldn't be able to deliver on all of it, but at least he could take care of one thing for her.

"So you must be Madison." He said as he approached, say what you would for a town this size, it made picking out the new ones an easy task.

She did look uncomfortable, but it was hard to tell if it was the arrival here or the fact she was back in that horrific retail uniform of hers, complete with the stupid looking nametag. At least she didn't have a dumb hat this time.

"And you must be Klaus." She answered back, noticing the cigarette he had and holding out her hand expectedly, though she did seem to soften a little as hse looked him over. No, he wasn't her type. But there was definitely an aura about him she could relate to.

"Sorry if I came across as such a bitch earlier." Madison didn't often apologize- well, the old Madison didn't often apologize. Post-Apocolypse Madison could at least realize when she was being unreasonable. "But I'm going to guess arriving here does that to a lot of people."

"The one and only," Klaus agreed with a flourish and a grin. He offered her a cigarette when she held out her hand and even a light because he was turning out to be very helpful today. And maybe Klaus saw a little something in her that appealed to part of him, he wasn't really sure what, but he could figure that out later.

He waved off her apology, because she was right, "It's a trip isn't it?" He agreed of the arrival, it made people lash out, seeking some kind of understanding or answers for the pure insanity that they found themselves in the middle of as soon as they arrived. At least she'd managed to figure out the phone thing on her own, so she was ahead of the curve on that one.

"This place does that to people, at least in the beginning." He told her, "To go from the end of the world to suddenly finding yourself in some sort of sad attempt at a fairly tale town does strange things to your head." To say nothing of the fact that Klaus had shown up alone when he'd come through. "It'll get easier to deal with the longer you're here."

She was just happy to take that first hit, looking visibly relieved as she exhaled the smoke and her shoulders started to relax a little. God, she needed that. She heard out his explanation, her face looking non-too-thrilled with the idea of being trapped here.

"So you're saying we're stuck here? And somehow this isn't Hell?" Great. She took another hit from the cigarette and looked around almost bored. "Magic?"

She would assume some sort of magic. Turning back to him, she narrowed her eyes on him and then slowly smiled as she took another long drag. "....You're w warlock, aren't you?"

"We sure seem to be," He agreed and shrugged. "There's been some debate about whether or not we're dead, but the general consensus is that we're all still alive so if this is some kind of hell it's made some pretty big mistakes bringing a bunch of living people here." He shrugged.

"Yeah, has to be I imagine." Or at least something like that, Klaus didn't know a ton about magic really, sure he supposed his abilities were something like magic, but they weren't really - not like the kind of magic he'd seen Bill use. And certainly not like whatever kind of magic or force was used to create this place and bring them all here.

He watched her look at him, like she was assessing him, and Klaus just waited for her verdict, his eyebrows rose up toward his hairline just a tick when she asked if he was a warlock. "Now that really would be something, wouldn't it?" He exhaled and shook his head, "But no, magic isn't really my thing. Pretty cool though. You have some experience with it by the sounds of it."

"Speak for yourself," she rolled her eyes about the being alive bit. She was pretty sure she was dead Or else that was one helluva headache. Still, didn't matter She was here now, maybe she had a chance to come back to life. Question was did she want to?

Not a warlock? Or maybe he was and he just didn't know it. She cocked her head to the side, watching him. "Your aura is...different. If you're not a warlock you definitely have some kind of gift." She took another drag and smirked when he asked about her experience with magic, then glanced around and saw a nearby bench. She raised her hand a little and flipped her fingers up a bit and the bench flew up, flipping around and crashing back on the ground.

Turning back to the not-warlock, Madison just smiled arrogantly. "I know a thing or two. I'm a witch- I'm going to assume you have a few of those here since you already know about magic, though." She sighed. "Could've been the fucking supreme if Cordelia wasn't....well, that's old news. She's actually pretty good at it. I guess I owe her..."

"Fair, we've had a couple formerly dead arrive in town." He admitted, not that he was naming names. Or at least not Ben's. But even excluding his brother there had been others who had found their way back to life that he'd heard of that were here. So it wasn't like it was a one off sort of thing.

He just grinned when she told him that his aura was different, now that was different and the sort of thing that he liked hearing about himself. An interesting aura - yes that suited Klaus just fine. "I don't think it's the sort of thing I'd call a gift, but I'm not just your average guy either." He agreed, without going into his powers. They felt a little useless here as it was, so what was the point after all?

The flying bench was an interesting show of magic. It wasn't the kind of easy magic that Bill showed him, that left Klaus feeling delighted and pleased, but it was interesting, he could allow that much. "Looks like you do know a thing or two." He agreed, though he didn't know what supreme meant, probably some wizard thing.

"Huh. So both the dead and the living..." That was interesting. Her eyes narrowed, clearly thinking about what that could mean. Madison was smarter than most people gave her credit for. It's what got her so far in life in the first place. Too bad it hadn't been enough to keep her alive all those times.

"Suit yourself," She wouldn't argue with him. She'd figure it out eventually. Or not. She hadn't decided whether or not the mystery was worth it quite yet.

When Klaus didn't look impressed, Madison all but pouted, glaring at him. "Oh c'mon. It's not a bus full of college assholes, but you're telling me that's not even worth a bat of an eye? Jesus." She took another drag of a cigarette too pissed off to try to impress him at the moment. Maybe later.

"Well except the formerly dead are just that, formerly dead. So we're all living here." He added, because that was an important detail to remember. "But we're all in this together," He singsonged a little bit and grinned.

Klaus just grinned, he liked a little bit of mystery, especially a harmless one like this. It wasn't some huge secret of course, it was just a little thing to tease with for the moment. And considering that she was so focused on whether or not she was dead, spilling that he could talk to ghosts felt like it'd do more harm than good.

He laughed when she practically pouted at him complaining about his reaction to her show of magic, "I didn't say it wasn't cool." He assured her with a grin, "Just you know, maybe you show me some useful magic and I'd be more into it." Maybe that was why he liked Bill's magic so much, when he used it, Klaus could easily see how much easier it made things, throwing benches around wasn't really a thing he needed to do often in his life.

"Please don't tell me you're singing Highschool Musical now," Madison deadpanned with a cold glare at him, her head cocking to one side. She was annoyed, but slightly amused by Klaus and his whispy ways. Yeah, she could see herself hanging out with him.

Useful magic? Madison rolled her eyes, finishing up her cigarette and tossing it to the ground to step on it before holding her hand out for another one. And suddenly, Klaus would feel the impulse to reach down and take out another cigarette to hand to the young woman who was glaring at him, without any ability to control his own physical actions. When she had it in her hand, she lit it again with the tip of her finger and took another drag. "Better?" She took another long drag, letting out a breath of smoke and adding. "I mean, I can resurrect the dead, but you're saying you don't have any corpses here so that's out."

"Lucky for us both, that's the only bit I know. So we're both saved from any more of that." He assured her with teasing smirk. Anything else would have required actually seeing the movies and well, Klaus had never quite been high enough for something like that.

Klaus would have given her another one just because she held out her hand for it, he didn't really need things like pleases and thank yous to do things. He was an evolved being, above such things. Of course that didn't change the fact that he felt some kind of compulsion to hand one over, one that though he wriggled against it just a little, more to see if he could, he found himself unable to resist. Now that was a kind of magic that piqued his interest.

"Oh yes, now that I like." He agreed with a grin. "That is definitely what we'd call useful magic." The other stuff was - well Klaus wasn't all that sure about that much. Might have made some things easier in his life but that was besides the point. "No corpses," He agreed nodding, "Guess you're just gonna have to stick to other kinds of magic for now."

"Guess we will," She smiled back at him when she realized he was impressed and she could see in his eyes the same gleam she knew well. It was the kind of expression she got when she had an idea. A little selfish twinge.

Okay. This could work. Madison cocked her head to the side, already able to tell this was going to be the beginning of a beautiful and very useful friendship. "Well, I can do something for you if you do something for me. For instance, where do we stay in a dump like this?"

She figured she could use Klaus and help him out here and there. So long as he kept her supplied with cigarettes and he continued to be interesting to be around. Besides, she liked using her powers to help her friends. Well, as long as it didn't get in the way of what she wanted.

Klaus wasn't entirely sure he wanted to use what she could do - but he certainly liked seeing it in action, or he supposed feeling it, considering she'd used it on him. But it worked well enough he supposed.

Her offer was appealing though, he wondered if he had anything that needed being done. "Pick one," He waved a hand around them at the houses, "You can choose any of the open ones and make it your own. They're not much to start, but you're ahead of the curve with that magic of yours." He added.

The adjustment period took some time, he knew. Especially if you were used to a totally different way of life, in truth, he wasn't sure he was entirely set on this place either, but he'd been here long enough that the routine of it had managed to get to him a bit. "Beyond that, there's the doors - I go through pretty regularly, to bring back things like this." He wiggled the pack of cigarettes to make his point.

"Yeah, I heard about these doors..." She looked skeptical about the idea of them, smiling at Klaus. "Guess I can't expect to have a manservant around or something like that. Oh well. I'll make do." She sighed and took another drag from the cigarette.

"Show me around. Bigger the better. Hmm, maybe I can do some renovating, hang up some art..." She was walking ahead despite telling him to show her, clearly and easily taking the lead and expecting the man to follow her.

"Ugh, first where can I get a different set of clothes?"

"You'll have to get incredibly lucky to find yourself with a manservant around these parts." Klaus told her, not that the idea wasn't just a little bit appealing - but really this place didn't have enough to do as it was, he'd have needed to get high every day if suddenly he had someone waiting on him like that. "Don't worry, it's not that difficult."

Klaus decided he liked Madison as she set off walking ahead of him all while asking him to show her around the place. "That's the spirit." He agreed as she started suggesting some of what she could do to make the place more livable.

"As for clothes, you'll find those this way." He said - turning and trusting her to follow, despite her setting off first, Klaus could follow a bit, but he was always happy to go off on his own. "Van Dyne's," He showed the shop front to her, "There will be clothes here, and then we've got Pancho's our one and only bar and pizzeria," He added making sure she had the important ones, "And of course, COFFEE - for all your coffee needs."

"That's fine. If I don't find one, I can make one." It was almost matter-of-factly the way she said it, with that slight upturn of her lip added for good measure. It wasn't that Madison couldn't do things for herself, she'd done so her whole life. But she liked knowing she could boss someone around from time to time.

Yes. Clothes first. She trusted him enough to follow him, looking around as she did. Van Dyne's. It had a decent ring to it. And a bar And coffee. At least they were trying to be civilized here.

"Do I need like, money or anything?" Not that it would matter. As Klaus had already witnessed, Madison had ways of getting what she wanted. In fact, she was already stepping into Van Dynes with the full intent on finding a new outfit.

Klaus quirked an eyebrow at her when she told him she could make one. But he didn't ask, because this was the sort of thing he had a feeling he didn't really want to know what exactly something like that entailed.

Honestly there wasn't much to the town so being able to show things off like this was a pretty quick process, beyond these initial things there wasn't much else to see. Everyone's homes and then of course the house.

But clothes seemed to be the first stop. And Klaus followed her inside. "We haven't gotten around to things like money." He told her, "It's all just kind of based on a good faith system." Or something like that, Klaus didn't really know, all he knew is none of them were really getting paid - but also none of them were going hungry either. So that was a thing.

"Even better." Because that just made things easier for the child star as she stepped into the shop and smiled at what she saw. Yes. She could make some of this work. She moved away from Klaus and immediately started grabbing things off the rack, just like a pro, smoking as she did so and then moving straight to the changing area.

An hour later, she felt more like herself with a tiny dress and a pair of large sunglasses, having all but shoved a large handful of clothes into Klaus' arms as she started to head out. "So...you were saying something about a house?"

Yes, it was clear Madison was a woman on a mission. And while Klaus wasn't her manservant, she was definitely going to take advantage of him while she had him

Well he could say this for Madison - the girl could shop. Klaus took a little time to look around himself while they were at it of course, you never knew when you'd need a new crop top and jeans. And today sure did seem to be that day. So with his new items and an armful of what Madison had picked out they made they way out of the shop.

"Well that is going to have to be your choice," Klaus told her when she asked about a house. "Let me show you what we've got available."

Klaus had no intention of being a manservant, but it wasn't like he had anything else going on that day, so he could take a little time and show Madison around a bit and then leave her to get settled in when the time came.

Madison was under no impression that Klaus was going to be a long-time servant, but she also knew he wasn't likely to complain about it. One of the reasons she liked him. And besides, she could do him a favor or two and call it even at some point. Maybe influence someone or help with...something. She had her uses.

For now, she was happy to go along with the idea of finding a place, nodding and letting him take the lead finally She even smiled a little at him, growing fonder and fonder of this Klaus guy by the minute.

And she was going to figure out what was up with his aura at some point. Eventually.
