Obi-Wan was never sure he wanted to be a leader. Even as a boy, the thought was intimidating to him. Qui-Gon Jinn had instilled in him that sense of responsibility. To be a Jedi would mean he would have to be a master someday, but his only attempt thus far had failed in the most spectacular was possible. His ward had become consumed by his internal darkness, and rather than bring the peace and balance to the universe, he'd made things so much worse.
It was selfish to blame himself for something like that. He knew deep down that he was not solely responsible. But what individualism remained within him could not help but feel guilty. So what was he doing taking on these new wards?
Well, two of them he felt like he owed. The children of Padme (he could not yet accept what their father was Anakin, not deep down). He would have to show them the ay. Strengthen them to defeat the darkness he was partially responsible for in the universe.
This new one, though? Well, there were two, actually. One whom he had not officially agreed to train. The darkness in the young sith was frightening. This one? He was not sure her path, just yet. But he knew she was strong. He would have to go easy with her, feel it out. He feared, though, she could easily turn.
He was sitting outside of his small house, on a bench, he'd actually constructed himself as he watched his small flock of porgs running around his hard. They amused him, a simple pleasure in such a strange place.
