Kate pretended to look offended at his remark, shaking her head. "We didn't hold it up! We had to get a cup first. Clint paid." She nodded her head as if that sealed the deal that they were the good guys in the situation. Clint had made it very clear that this was for the greater good and Kate was happy to go along with it. "Now, after we had the coffee, that's when it got a bit...interesting." You wouldn't have thought it would have been so heavy, but it was hard to help carry something while trying to find the damn doorway you had gone through.
"Yeah, we've all got people," Kate said, thinking of Billy and Teddy. Would they notice she was gone? Would they try and find her? Or did something happen to them too? She looked over at him, realizing it might have come out a bit harsher than she had meant it. "Sorry," she said, concentrating on the coffee that began to pour into one of the mugs. The smell was heavenly, but Kate didn't lean in to smell; she didn't need him judging her any more than he probably should be. "I just...don't know if it's possible." She handed him a mug that was 2/3 full. "I mean...do you know how we got here?" It seemed to be a common rumor that Thanos had lead to this, but Kate had only heard about him. He seemed to have the reputation of being a super SUPER bad guy, but she had only heard stories from America. But if that were the case, what if the people who weren't there had...
She didn't want to think about it and she slid the next mug under and started to pack some more espresso in.
She relaxed a bit as Peter confirmed the amazing effects that smelling coffee had. Or at least he seemed to understand how important it was. Another cup began to brew and she took a deep breath, sighing. "Yeah, it's pretty great, isn't it?" Once hers was done, she pulled it out, her hands hugging the mug between them.
"Oh, uh...cheers I guess!" She glanced at Peter, moving to take the handle and held her cup out for him to cheers before taking a dip. Thank God they had found that cafe.
