"Not everyone can be," Peter said with as much consolation in his tone as possible, because sure the spider-mantel was a hard one to carry at times but it was still pretty awesome, even all these years latter. So you know, not everyone could be so lucky, but others had things that they could do, probably. He was sure she did, I mean coffee, right? That was definitely a thing as far as Peter was concerned. "Yeah?" He asked, grinning, sure he'd been famous enough in his own world, but well he liked hearing his fellow Peters were doing well too.
Hawkeye he'd heard, he wasn't sure about the rest, Kate Bishop, Young Avenger. Sounded cool though, even if she didn't quite fit with the Hawkeye he had in mine. "Cooler than Clint? You must be pretty cool then." Peter said sagely, "Not sure that I've heard of you before, but you know I'm always glad to meet the cool kids."
And then she hit him with it, Peter clutched at his chest. "Wow." He said finally. "Wow. Yeah. I mean - yeah. That is... a thing alright. Heard that before." And maybe he'd hoped that he'd heard it for the last time, and yet here he was, cut to the quick over it once more. "Guess that happens sometimes. You're younger than I thought Hawkeye would be." He finished, like that meant anything at all, he didn't even know how old she was, 18? 15? 27? Who knew! Just younger than him, that much was obvious.
