Tony hadn't really meant for Pyro to stay if he was being honest. But apparently his momentary dismissal hadn't been firm enough, and now the guy was doing that self sacrificing thing that Tony knew all about and commiserated with and was shivering up a storm and ---
Look. It was sort of like a kicked puppy. You couldn't just tell them to go sleep outside. Or, well, Tony probably could have but his conscience which sounded an awful lot like Captain America said it wasn't a nice thing to do.
He chewed on his bottom lip for a moment before nodding. "Yeah. One sec."
He left the room empty handed and returned with a laptop, a tool box and a blanket -- the latter of which he tossed in John's direction before he hunkered down directly on the floor and opened his laptop up, clearly going straight to work. "I'd argue you probably matter," he said, eyes glued to the screen. "Most people do. Your mystery girl probably cares a hell of a lot."
