Bucky knew he couldn't stay invisible forever, and the truth was, he didn't want to. He wanted to go see his best friend, to find out if he was indeed the Steve he'd known his whole life, and figure out where they both were in the lives they were living. Was Steve from the same time he was? Was he from before, after, or when? He'd not asked about him from Stark in their brief interaction, because he didn't think that was safe territory. Really, he didn't know what to think about that whole situation and that was another reason he wanted to talk to Steve. Just Steve. For now.
Thankfully, the person who emerged was Steve and not Stark, because Bucky wasn't concealing himself that much at the moment because he did want to be found. The subsequent teasing jab he received sounded like his Steve, but then, he couldn't imagine any version of Steve Rogers not having some varying degree of wit.
"Practice makes perfect," he said, and leaned up off the tree. He took a few steps forward. "How long you been here, punk?"
