Leia Organa // OTA - Multiples Welcome
Somehow she found herself turning up to these gatherings, eventually. It wasn’t so much a case of voluntary isolation, but finding her place here was harder than she could have imagined. People here were kind, and welcoming - they were accepting and held these events with open arms, there was no reason not to try find a place here.
Leia stayed for the Fireworks as dusk settled, apparently something common between their galaxies and equally beautiful here on Earth. It was bittersweet, really - she enjoyed the sight of the colourful explosions lighting up the sky, allowing a smile to part her lips as she gazed upward, eyes bright; though her memories of Endor and the celebration were still fresh, the evening they’d shared, in true happiness, relief and a sense of unsinkable hope for the future of their galaxy, and how bright it now seemed.
That future had been snatched away by her arrival here. This thought seemed to run over, and over in her mind.v
She was beginning to wonder if she had to simply let it go, she’d never fought for the rebellion knowing seeing it’s success was inevitable. So technically she’d lost nothing. Whilst she would, and had fought with everything she could give, there was no guarantee that she would survive to see the Empire’s end - more or less this situation wasn’t so different from that, with the exception of having to live with it.
Maybe Leia would never return to her galaxy, and to thrive here, she’d have to let go. She continued to stare upward, looking thoughtful, and not unapproachable as she let the fireworks ease a smile back upon her lips.
