WHO: Peter B and Bobby D
WHAT: Beach Day
WHERE: Through the doors
WHEN: Today
RATING: probably nsfw

With the suggestion of a beach day, complete with Pokemon on the table, Peter was only too eager to take Bobby up on the offer, so rather than put it off he let Carol know he'd be gone for a bit and got Davey Jones ready to go and headed out to meet Bobby at the doors.

Taking a couple of tries to open the doors and peek through writing some off as not what they wanted Peter was just getting ready to try another when he heard Bobby approaching, at least he suspected it was Bobby and he turned around with a grin on his face to see him there making his way toward him.

"I was just out here trying to make my dino free dreams a reality." He admitted with a laugh, holding a hand out to Bobby to invite him closer, maybe wrap an arm around his waist and tug him closer, probably take a kiss while he was at it, because Peter just liked that kind of easy affection.

Bobby rolled up to the house looking like he was jaunting off to Fire Island for Pride weekend, which was to say his denim cutoffs were way too short to be appropriate anywhere and his black crop top barely reached the bottom of his pecs. A backward snapback embroidered with a white Uh? sat over his short hair and a knapsack was slung over one shoulder. Behind him, a fuzzy purple butterfly about the size of a small cat flittered to and fro and iridescent powder drifted off its wings.

"Speaking of," Bobby replied after the kiss, perfectly happy to let Peter grab onto him. "I made something for you."

One hand held onto Peter to steady himself while the other dangled a small ice sculpture in the shape of a tyrannosaurus rex.

"Raaawr, t-rex angry," Bobby affected a voice, "short arms can't dig through bargain bin DVDs."

Butters landed on Bobby's hat, his long feet bending and his short front paws clinging to the fabric. He looked at Peter with his big red eyes.

"Aaaand this is Butters, the butter fairy."

Bobby looked like he was ready to be in some kind of parade, maybe off dancing with someone much younger than Peter, having the time of his life as he made his way toward him with his new pokemon following after him over his shoulder.

"You made me something?" He asked with a grin and raising an eyebrow curious to see what it was, only to burst out laughing at the sight of the little icy T-rex that Bobby presented him with a moment later. "Okay, this is the kind of dinosaur I can support."

The butterfly seemed ready to join in with their conversation, sitting itself on Bobby's head to inspect Peter by the looks of it. "Hello Butters," And as he spoke to the pokemon he felt a viney tug at his hand that had him glancing down at his bulbasaur and grinning, "Don't worry, you're still my number one." He promised.

"This is Davey Jones," He said crouching down and petting his head, much to the little guy's delight, as he cooed out his usual Bulba, bulba.

"With a name like Davey Jones I thought he'd be someone more...watery?" Bobby waved at the bulbasaur. He nudged Butters off his perch, who released a cloud of sparkling dust of his wings with the first beat as he took to the air again. "Go on, say hello. Be social and charming like me."

"So, did you book tickets or are we still playing roulette?" Bobby asked as he reached for the door. He'd barely opened it a foot when a gout of flame shot out, which lead to him promptly throwing it shut. "Nope, that's a no."

It took another fifteen or so tries before they got a favorable option. But that was the game if you were looking for something specific. Sometimes the doors opened to burning hellscapes. Sometimes an outlet mall. Sometimes waterworld.

"And sometimes...a lonely beach that's begging to be occupied by two studs and their cute buddies."

Bobby reshouldered his knapsack and grabbed Peter's hand, "Ready for some fun in the sun? And not looking at these same buildings for the next several hours?"

"He's named for the Monkees, not the pirate." Peter explained, it had been a long and round about way of getting there, and he wasn't sure he could actually explain it, but it worked for him and Davey seemed to approve, so really that was all that mattered. While their pokemon got to know one another Peter checked with Bobby who asked about the door, eyes going wide when flames shot out of the open doorway.

"Yeah, definitely not." He agreed - the doors could take you to all manner of nightmare locations. And it was always about finding the right one, it was the sort of thing that Peter didn't always have the patience for.

But with Bobby, they managed to find what looked like exactly what they'd been hoping for. "Oh yeah." Peter agreed with an eager grin, "This looks like exactly what we need.

And with Bobby's hand in his they were through the door together and out onto what looked like a nearly pristine beach, with brilliant blue waters and lots of warm sun. "Now this is what I'm talking about." He grinned taking it all in. Peter shed his shirt almost immediately, it'd be a crime to keep it on here on a day like this, and well - it was just the two of them so why not. "If the doors went to places like this more, I'd go through more regularly.

Stepping through with Peter, the heat and the sun hit him hard. It wasn't at all similar to their little town (it's a quiet village, every day like the one bef--) and for that Bobby was extremely grateful. He had been getting claustrophobic. Bobby chucked off his shoes and left them in the sand before running forward to where the water was lazily lapping up onto the shore with dying wave. It felt great beneath his toes.

"Wow. Wow!" He repeated, looking out at the infinite horizon, then back at Peter and the tropical treeline behind him. "Imagine if we would have lucked out and got trapped here instead."

The sea breeze whipped over the sandbar, causing the short, frayed edge of his shirt to billow around his muscular torso. It made the hair on his arms stand on end.

"Can smell the salt in the air. I wonder if it's Earth ocean or somewhere else? Guess there's really no way to know."

And really, Bobby supposed he didn't much care. He extended his arms out toward Peter.

"Come and get me, you beautiful man."

Peter was happy to watch Bobby soaking it all in, as he dug his feet into the sand and ran into the water. It was nice, a welcome change from their usual - though a small part of Peter feared that maybe they couldn't take it all at face value. But watching Bobby like that at the edge of the water sounding extremely grateful for the change, Peter decided that they could probably handle anything that might come their way.

And for the moment it looked like all they were really going to have to deal with was the sun and the water.

"I am sure we'd get tired of this eventually." He said with a laugh, it was harder to imagine it happening quite as quickly of course, this had a kind of enticement that their quite little town back home couldn't even begin to match.

Laughing when Bobby called for him to come and get him, Peter just paused long enough to get his own shoes off before he was jogging in Bobby's direction, right up to him. Peter wound his arms around Bobby and tugged him fruther out, into the water, warm from the heat of the sun overhead, wobbling as the waves came in pressing at them as he fought against them as he pulled Bobby out into the water properly.

"I can't remember the last time I went to the beach." He admitted when they'd gone out far enough for his tastes. "There's never time for it back home," And here - well it wasn't like they were having a lot of beach days out here either.

"Oof!" Bobby laughed as Peter tackled him, the man's (super)natural spider strength knocking him off his footing as he carried them deeper into the water. He didn't fall-- the viscosity of the water provided enough buoyant resistance that he was able to just float along with his arms wrapped around Peter's torso to anchor him.

"Now my clothes are all wet!" He yelled in faux protest, as if he wasn't about to take them off anyway. Once they'd gotten out far enough, waist deep or so, Bobby pulled off his crop top and temporarily hung it on his shoulder. Next came his shorts, kicked off and plucked off his foot with a flexible hand. Bobby grinned and balled them both up before sending them skipping across the surface. When they touched the water it turned to ice and catapulted them onto the wet sand before melting back into the ocean.

"Mm, now what were you saying? Oh right. It's not like there's any good beaches in New York City anyway. Coney Island...Brighton...nah."

Bobby threw his arms and bobbed up into the water where it became clear he wasn't wearing any underwear.

"And certainly no beaches in Queens, mister friendly neighborhood Spiderman."

"Oh no," Peter said with amusement when Bobby protested, grinning hugely. "Guess you're just going to have to take them off so they can dry out." He chuckled, like it hadn't been his plan to get Bobby out of his clothes as soon as he could.

Yes, this was much better, his clothes back on the beach, and Bobby holding on to him as he held him up in the water that moved in slow steady waves around their waists. "You're not wrong." He agreed - there were beaches in New York of course, but they were not like this, not even close. And Peter had never been more glad to end up at a beach that he couldn't call familiar than he was right here at this one.

Peter grinned watching Bobby move in the water, showing off the way in that way of his, letting Peter see he'd gone without anything under his clothes, as if Peter needed further tempting.

"No, beaches are one thing we just do not do in Queens. Thank goodness we're a long way from Queens right now, or else you wouldn't be enjoying this nearly as much."

"I mean, to be honest, I don't really remember the last time I was in Queens." Bobby squinted and looked past Peter's shoulder facetiously. "Some...brewhouse in Long Island City? I dunno. But the F train is aptly named because it is totally effed."

Underneath the water, Bobby subtly wound his leg around Peter's and pressed himself into the man's hip while he talked.

"Maybe I'd have more clothes on if we were in Queens," Bobby sighed, faux resigned, and tilted his head up until his chin touched Peter's. "But I think that I can enjoy myself wherever I am if you're there with me."

"Typical," Peter chuckled when Bobby teased him about Queens, "Getting anyone to cross the river these days is always a battle in itself." He grinned though because it was nice talking about home even like this. It didn't really matter how they were doing it - just that it was being done.

Peter let an arm wrap around Bobby as they talked, the points of connection just one more thing to enjoy as the sun warmed them and the water moved in shallow waves against them before move on toward the shore.

"Now that would be a real shame," Peter grinned, tipping his head forward just enough that his nose pressed to Bobby's just for a moment. "All things being equal, I think I might just enjoy myself a bit more being here with you than I would being back in Queens."

"I," Bobby retorted, tapping his finger on Peter's Adam's Apple, "go to Brooklyn at least once a month, I'll have you know. So it's not the river, it's really the train."

The ocean current was gentle and rhythmic, the slow push of it at his back ushering him against Peter's body. Bobby certainly didn't resist it. The tide was just one more thing for him to enjoy along with the man's touch.

"But yeah, all things equal, I think I'd rather be here with you, too. With the quiet, and the clear air, and the water, and the no clothes."

Bobby kissed Peter and dragged icy fingertips down his chest until they settled on his waist. It was easy to pretend nothing, no one else existed at that moment when it was just the sound of the ocean in his ears and the touch of this man against him.
