Carol sighed. "Well, we don't need a mattress store, so that's probably out." She leaned both elbows on the bar and considered. "Huh. You'll have a lot of time to sleep here. Probably will get bored of it after a while. You might have to find your own food sometimes- a lot of us live by scavaging what we can through the doors, though we've become a bit of a community so that makes it easier. But everyone contributes to an extent."
Well, they eventually contributed. That seemed to be the way of things around here. People volunteered to do the right thing, and Carol was glad for it. Made it easier for everyone else.
"But for now, do you even have a place to stay, kid?"
