Steve was good for him, because he was just so calm all the time. Not that his own wasn't calm, but Tony wasn't second guessing everything this Steve said to him - he could just agree when Steve assured him that his Steve would want to try some of this with him when they had a chance. It was great. He could use a little more of this from time to time.
For now though there was this, going through the motions with Steve, as he showed him how he could use the little tips and tricks he was teaching him, showing him the way they worked in practice, letting Tony absorb the movements and commit them to memory.
So when Steve came at him at his normal speed Tony didn't immediately lose his head, he was able to use the momentum just like Steve had shown him and though he didn't end up in a kind of flip like in the movies he did manage to come through the other end successfully.
"Did you see that!" He laughed, the excitement of getting it right coursing through him, "That was great. Oh man. Can we do it again?"
