Talking about it now had Steve looking back so fondly. That was when he'd started to really fall for Tony, to know who he was and realize Steve was never as happy as when they were together. Teaching him to fight outside of the suit, to protect himself had seemed like an important step. Besides it had been an excuse to get their hands on each other.
Usually it was Steve blushing and he laughed not unkindly but warm. "Later you can show him what you learned, huh?" Steve said. It was sweet how smitten young Tony was with his own Steve and it just seemed the way it was. No matter what universe Tony and Steve were into each other and wasn't that sweet.
"Okay, come on," Steve said as he lead the way into the ring. First Steve showed him how to block, how to move to deflect blows, staying light on his feet.
"What you want to do it use someone's force against them, when you're smaller you're faster," Steve explained. "So if I come at you, then you can use my own movement to get me on my back."
