Kitty watched his little pokemon wander off for a moment before he was apologizing for something that was absolutely not his fault. It was weird, they were both a little bit uncomfortable with all of this, but there wasn't really much they could do about it - other than their best. So she just smiled and shook her head.
"Not your fault, Peter." She reminded him gently, his world was different from hers, they'd never met - maybe she didn't exist there at all, it was hard to say really. "I'll be honest, I'm kind of relieved you're not the you I know." She told him, things were complicated between them, they'd had a strange relationship, built off of more and more intense circumstances until they reached the point that they seemed to agree without even really talking about it that they were just two different people from very different worlds.
"Maybe you'll get a chance to meet another me some point in the future," She wasn't sure how that'd work or not, "But for now you'll just have to make do with me." Maybe they were stuck here for ever, maybe they'd never get the chance to meet any other versions of themselves back in their own worlds. This place was built on maybes. "It's good to see you though, any version of you. It's been a little while."
