There was a moment in which Leia felt a small pang of guilt for having responded so impulsively. He had mentioned destroying Empire facilities alone, boasted even - and Leia in some way had felt the need to reinforce the Rebel Alliance’s importance, their need to band together. And he didn’t exactly come across as someone who she'd expect to be sympathetic to her cause.
But, she had revealed the future, with little thought or care. She knew that wasn’t right.
His reaction made little sense, for someone seemingly invested in the fall of the Empire, Leia caught off guard as he dropped to his knees. Any guilt she might’ve felt evaporated almost immediately as he asked on the fate of Vader and the Emperor - as if he'd been crushed. Her gaze remained cold, tone unwavering.
"Destroyed. Both of them, along with their superweapon." Of course the Emperor had plans in place, in the event of his death. They'd barely escaped Naboo because of Operation Cinder.
