The urges had always been strong, Steve could vouch for that. They were both strong personalities and they clashed as hard as they meshed. But it was better when they'd been friends, when they could enjoy television shows, old movie and popcorn, or a round in the ring. They'd both misjudged each other and in time they'd actually really got to know just how much.
"Everyone's happy when you come up with something," Steve reminded him. All the advances here were of course mostly thanks to Tony, who was not only smart but good at actioning his own plans. They could actually progress here with Tony on their side. "And I didn't expect you to develop a love for laundry."
It was late and things around the house were quiet so instinctively his voice dropped, which somehow just added the that intimacy that came with sharing a room. He'd be lying if he said he didn't enjoy it, the reassurance of having him there. "We could make pizza, flour, yeast, cheese," Steve pointed out. "A wood burning oven and we're in business."
It stung a little, just because he knew how close they'd come to losing Tony a number of times. Too many times. "You and me both."
