Explaining wouldn't really do either of them much good. Not at this point anyway. There was a lot between them, and forgetting it was impossible and forgiving it felt -- Almost unnecessary, currently. They'd both said and done things they regretted, no doubt. And they both took some blame on their shoulders. But Tony saw no reason to drag everything back up to the top in a time like this. He'd rather just keep moving forward, for now.
And for the most part, it seemed to be working. Sure, some of their silences stretched on and awkward for too long, but sometimes it was just -- fine. Nearly comfortable.
Like right now? It wasn't bad. Tony could live with this. If one could call the primitive life of Starklandia living in the first place.
"Yeah," he agreed, and considered the roster of the town. A few Spider-Men (and Woman) all of whom he liked and felt grateful for in a way he couldn't put to words. Seeing Peter whole again was -- it was enough to make this all worth it. The Hawkeyes would be and were fine. Jan was rallying delight, along with some younger version of himself.
And then there was Barnes. And Tony didn't know whether or not he should say anything to Steve about him or not, because -- because it wasn't really his place, was it? Some things needed interventions and others didn't. And yeah. There was a part of Tony that realized the second he said something, Steve would be off looking for his friend and then whatever barricade he'd built here for himself would be broken.
Maybe in the light of day, with tech in his hands he'd be less selfish. Yeah. He'd say something in the morning.
"Everyone's pretty self sufficient. I can't find a way back. I can't figure it out. Do you think it feels weird, trying to build something here, instead?"
