Who: Everyone!
What: A viewing of Blade Runner in celebration of Clint Barton's birthday.
Where: Outside under the stars.
When: Tuesday, the 18th.

Clint's request for his birthday had been both simple and specific: he wanted beer, and he wanted Blade Runner. Natasha had thought it would be fun to turn it into something for the whole town, a little bit celebratory, and thus: with the help of Remus, Tony, and Luke, with a projector contributed from Nyx, they'd pulled it off. They'd rigged up an enormous clean white sheet on the side of a building, roughly the size of an actual movie theater screen, the movie playing across it in picture that looked surprisingly crisp and clear. Audio wasn't bad either, though the captions were turned on at the bottom of the screen just in case.

Apparently there were seven different cuts for just the one movie. Natasha hoped whichever DVD she'd snagged had been one of the cuts that was Clint's actual favorite, but she figured beggars wouldn't be too choosy.

Beer had been provided by Pancho's, and a couple trips through the doors had yielded buttered popcorn, Twizzlers, and an assortment of other movie-candy for anyone to choose from if they wanted it. Blankets were spread out on the grass for seating, a couple of cushions to go along with them, and once it got dark outside, the stars and moon hanging low overhead, they'd start it up. It was a lovely summer evening, perfect for an outdoor movie.

The Doctor was excited about the party. Well, she was excited about any and all parties if she was being honest. And the idea of a movie party was even better. Even if it was, technically a party, was it? She didn't think about it too hard because there was popcorn, and popcorn was a glorious thing!

Walking around, trying not to step on anyone lying on the blankets and muttering her excuse mes and pardon theres, she made her way over to the popcorn, clearly beaming at the sight. The thought occurred to her that Rose would have loved this, and for a second, she paused by the popcorn and her face fell just a little.

Rose.

Search as she may, there'd been no sign of the girl. She'd just vanished, like so many before her. The Doctor was now more determined than ever to find her. To figure out what happened to all of them. She was convinced that working out what or how they got there was key, but all she could do for now was hold out hope that Rose was alive and happy somewhere.

She truly believed that. She had to.

Scott was still overwhelmed by this place and had spent a lot of time wandering around town. He'd found a place to sleep tonight and he'd figure out how to go about getting clothes and food tomorrow. At least supper tonight was taken care of even if it wasn't the most nutritious. Popcorn and candy and soda was better than nothing. Actually better than the food that was considered nutritious.

It had been years since he'd seen Blade Runner and he remembered why. He hadn't liked it all that much but he wasn't about to admit that this apparently this was somebody's birthday party. Instead he made his way to the popcorn and was getting himself some when he saw the woman standing by the table.

"Hi," he said. "I'm Scott. I just got here so I want to make sure. We just take the popcorn and don't have to pay for it?"

The Doctor was staring at the movie, remembering it from years back. She liked the one with Ryan Gosling better. Eating popcorn, her eyes a bit lost in thought, she turned to see the new person and smiled at him. "Oh. Hullo!" The normally chipper 13 seemed a bit sad when she said it, not that Scott would know the difference.

She quickly realized she didn't recognize him and added. "You're new! And no payin' for anythin' here, really. Guess we don't need a money system when everyone's just tryin' to get by. I'm the Doctor, by the way. " She stuck out a slightly buttery hand, holding her bag of popcorn in the other. "Settlin' in alright? Do you know anyone here?"

She'd gotten used to asking that since so many people came from similar universes around her. She was starting to feel a bit left out by it all, seeing as there was no one from her own left. Ten, Jack, Rose...all gone in an instant. Shaking off the negativity, she added.

"S'not my favorite version, either." Like she could read his mind, she shrugged and turned back to the screen. "Androids are always gettin' a bad rap, don't ya think?"

Oh boy. Well. It was sure his birthday. He was now officially on the wrong side of his thirties -- which probably wasn't as dramatic as it sounded even if he sort of wanted to act like it was.

But then, Clint Barton was a fairly dramatic guy when he put his mind and effort into it. He wasn't doing that tonight though. Tonight was for being chill, for kicking back and being chill, drinking some beer and having some snacks and watching the best movie of all time. Which, no matter which version, Natasha had picked right on. Because there was no wrong choice. Obviously. Not like there was a right choice when it came to licorice: twizzlers. Which Nat had pulled through on, because she was an absolute treasure.

Things were still kind of getting started, being set up and all that, but Clint had claimed a spot on a blanket just about right in the middle of everything and he was enjoying being lazy and gnawing on candy while watching people show up and pick spots, too.

This was nice, actually. Kinda cozy. A little less of a drinking binge, and certainly not a black tie affair. And everyone liked a movie. Hopefully.

He glanced up at the nearest person walking past and offered a bright smile.

It turned out that planning a birthday party wasn't that much work, really, and if Natasha could run successful Avengers operations from different continents, from different planets, even, planning one movie night should have been a walk in the park. And still she'd paid attention to this with the kind of precision focus that indicated if it wasn't all perfectly executed down to the last detail, it could result in someone's actual death. Which was to say: she had taken it seriously. It was the first time in a long time she'd been able to celebrate Clint's birthday; the first time they were celebrating it together, the first time she was throwing him a party, and, well, everything had to be perfect was probably a lofty goal, but it was still where she'd set the milemarkers.

She wanted it to be nice. Memorable. Fun. The best birthday he'd ever had. A way to show him how much he was loved. A lot of things.

Natasha could relax now that it was the night-of, though, she could relax. It seemed like it was all going off without a hitch, just a matter of the sun going down enough to make sure the picture would be at its best visibility. She grabbed two beers and thronged her way through the crowd, slowly gathering and settling in, until she found the birthday boy in the center of everything, eating Twizzlers and looking - the way she had wanted him to look, tonight, and when he caught her eyes, there was that smile that still did things to her.

"Hey, birthday boy," she said, dropping onto the blanket next to him and handing over one of the beers, then leaning in to kiss the corner of his mouth. "Hope this seat's not taken."

Perfect was lofty, but by Clint's standards, not all that hard to meet. Any effort would have been perfect to him, it really would have. This wasn't the kind of thing that he normally got -- birthdays and movie outings fell by the wayside for the Avengers, particularly ones that had purposefully separated themselves from the pack for a while.

Even still, he could identify above and beyond when he saw it, and this was definitely it. Natasha had done her best, and it showed. And god, if he didn't appreciate it.

He grinned, that goofy and still somehow awed look that he got sometimes, and took the beer even as he tilted his head at just the right moment to get a peck on the lips instead of just near them. "For you? I'd say it's pretty open." He had a whole other side of his blanket for Bucky, if the guy wanted. "Hey," he said, "thanks. This is really great. Like, seriously."

Movies for entertainment. Something the Sith apprentice was not use to in theory or thought. The thing he also was truly not use to was the constant fear of being killed. For example not having PROXY here with him, and his programming to constantly attempt to kill him at any given point was refreshing, if not lonely.

Also he found himself missing Juno, his pilot. He had been initially on his way to rescue her when he was brought here.

So, with all that in mind, he allowed Lucario to stay home instead of coming with him, and Starkiller went to this movie viewing alone. He wasn't sure what he was about to get into with the movie, but how bad could a movie be with the name 'Blade Runner' after all? Walking to where the movie was happening, he saw people milling about, but avoided the larger groups of people before finding himself a nice spot to sit on his own.

Once settled he simply waited for the movie to start, only offering casual glances to those passing by.

So she was more or less ambivalent about the screening, it'd sounded like a nice event to attend, but she wasn't so certain she even felt like it - but Luke had talked her into it, and when she did arrive, the film had only just begun.

The red strings, that she was told were twizzlers, and were sweet clutched in one hand, a drink in the other - she'd been sort of idling about where to park herself; somewhere on the 'aisle' of cushions and blankets when she glanced at the screen and in a sort of shock, just plonked to a sit on the nearest blanket.

"What the Kriff?" she hissed in disbelief, staring at the screen still as if she'd seen a ghost, the man on screen bore a entirely uncanny resemblance to Han Solo, not just in passing, a dead ringer for the smuggler; a sort of ache set in with the confusion as she sighed and took a small sip - looking ready to leave.

The woman who practically sat next to the Sith had a striking resemblance to someone he had just had a conversation with just a day previously. For a moment, the young man just stared at the woman considering his actions. She was already displeased with the movie, but it had just started, and Starkiller looked back at the makeshift screen. To the woman. To the screen. Back to the woman.

Being a man who didn't get any snacks or drinks from the communal area, he reached his hand up some, and used the force to pluck a red string from her hand with practiced ease.

When in his hand he took a bite without a second of consideration. Chewing through the odd flavor he glanced at the screen then back to Leia. "You know, I never knew politician types to dislike fun that much. You look like someone gutted your tauntaun." Starkiller shrugged eating the sweet treat more.

She had heard about the movie - not this particular movie, but that there was one being hosted in honor of a birthday for Clint. He was not the one she had known only briefly, but he had filled the space where the other had been by the looks of things and Nebula was glad for those she had called friends that they had one more member of their team even if he was shaped differently.

This would not be the first movie she had seen, though she had not seen many she had on occasion been drawn into one while she visited Earth between missions in the past. Here though this was not between missions, it was all there was for the moment. So she found herself there, as the rest of the town began to gather.

"Quill." She said as she approached him, she had kept some distance from him since he'd arrived, giving him the chance to introduce himself to her sister without her influence. Gamora had that chance once before, Nebula felt like perhaps she was owed that chance again - after everything she had been through. But here was Quill on his own.

"Is this where you'll watch the movie?" She asked him, she hadn't picked a space for herself yet. "What do you think of twizzlers?" She asked him, she had seen the options for food and wasn't sure what to make of the red ropes

Gamora was supposed to be here. She said she'd meet him after he'd asked anyway. He was getting a little fidgety about it, even though he was well aware they hadn't quite set a time and that Gamora didn't lie. Not about stuff like this. Peter just needed to take a deep breath about it and be patient. Or something.

"Nebula," he said, and it wasn't like he was surprised to see her -- he knew she was around, and figured she'd been keeping her space for a reason. And really, if Nebula didn't want to talk to you, that was how it was gonna be. She and Gamora definitely had that in common.

It was a little surprising to see her at this gathering though. It seemed a little social for her. Then again, not being a part of things sucked and she was pretty aware of that too. "Howsit going? Yeah I'm waiting for --" He paused, awkward. "Well, Gamora said she'd come." Case in point, he had enough snacks for two people and two beers in front of him. "Twizzlers are pretty good. You wanna try? I snagged a bag. They kinda stick to your teeth in a bad way. It's great."

It was strange having him here, part of her felt something like jealousy. Gamora was her sister, and their time here could have been their own - but then he had come and Nebula would have to share her sister now - allow her to know this man once again if it was what she wanted. And it seemed like she did. So here he was now, setting up a space here for him to share with Gamora no doubt.

"She will come," Nebula agreed when he seemed to pause and sounded just a little unsure of whether or not Gamora would come. But Nebula knew her sister, if she said she would come here then she would.

But there were twizzlers to discuss, and she considered it when he explained them, "They are bad, but great?" She asked. Terrans were strange, it was one thing she had learned in the time she had spent on Earth, they were doing things that often were contrary to their own well being but called them good in spite of that. "Yes." She said after another moment. "I will try them. I tried something called a popsicle once." Recalling a memory from her time on Earth. "It was cold in a bad way, my circuitry did not appreciate it, but it was good."

A movie. They were going to watch a movie together and he hadn't asked other people first because he wanted it to be just them. Which didn't mean that there wouldn't be other people there and around, there would be. But he wanted to be with just her and Gamora had agreed. Not because she felt like she should, or because he'd worn her down but because maybe she kind of wanted to. Quill was very strange, but mainly in that he made her feel strange, unlike any other being had.

Like how she'd spent so much time getting ready she was angry at herself. She'd collected clothes one day through one of the doors, things she liked so she'd have some choice, but what did she wear to a movie? Gamora tried them all on and looked at herself, huffing and rolling her eyes at how stupid it was before she tried again. Eventually she picked a skirt, but partnered it with boots that laced right up to her knees, thick soles that would hurt if they collided with the side of your head and a good place to store a knife.

She even put her hair half up, twisting it back from her face. It was stupid, but maybe he'd like it. Or he wouldn't and she'd know not to bother.

Gamora who felt very confident about a great deal of things felt out of her element as she arrived and spotted where he was sitting, blanket and everything there as he'd said. "Have we done this before?" She asked as she got closer. "Well not exactly this but you know what I mean." Gamora fidgeted a little, smoothing down her skirt over the knife strapped to her thigh.

The thing about Gamora was that she couldn't really do anything with her outfits or hair that Peter wouldn't like. She'd been stupid hot in a bright yellow prison uniform, she was breathtaking in her normal leathers and short sleeves.

And right now? She was practically radiant. Peter didn't have enough words to describe it, because he was just staring up at her like maybe she'd hung the moon. All of the moons, really. There were a frickin' billion of them after all. "Hot," he said, all blurty and without much restraint because that was how Quill did; just said things that came to mind without filtering them at all. Even this new Gamora, unused to Peter in general, had to be aware of it by now.

But he gestured to the spot beside him on the blanket, an offer even though technically he'd already asked. "No," he admitted. "This is new." They'd all watched dumb shit, space shows and the galatic news and whatever else on the ship, but that was with everyone, never just Gamora and him and never under a sky full of stars.

Gamora didn't have to try to figure out what he might be thinking, or go by the way his eyes lingered on her legs. No because Peter went and just said things. Which was a relief really because Gamora kind of needed that boost to her confidence. Oh sure she knew he liked how she looked, his pupils dilated when he looked at her and everything. But her effort to be movie on a blanket appropriate hadn't been for nothing.

She sank down into the free spot, sitting back on her feet with her knees on the blanket. Gamora would settle in bit by bit, she wasn't ready to lounge back like some of the other people. It was kind of nice to think this was new, there weren't expectations on her to do it right because it was the first time.

The two beers and everything set out was really quite sweet and so unlike anything she'd ever imagined herself having. It wasn't like she was unfamiliar with relationships of all kind, when she got an itch she found someone to scratch it, but even then she kept her distance mentally. But there was no distance here from Peter. "I like doing something with you for the first time for both of us," Gamora said.

Nyx was familiar with movies, and he was familiar with enjoying movies. As much as he was a soldier he still had free time. He often spent it with other Glaives or on his own, but he was familiar with television and entertainment.

Mostly.

Nyx would admit he watched for current events and the news, but there had to be something good, and that something good was for this specific evening. Clint? He believed that was the name. He hadn't actually met the man yet, but one to be helpful, Nyx would help with the shindig. Providing Tony with the projector to fix and modify as needed, and fetching any parts that were needed, he was pleased with his part in the planning.

Now was to enjoy the fruits of labor. Nyx not having a date for the movie, brought his new compatriot, Snorlax. He happened to be awake, and moving about when he asked the giant pokemon if he wanted to come enjoy a movie. Snorlax made a noise, and Nyx took it as a yes. So together the pair of them walked towards the viewing area, and Nyx stayed in the back with his pokemon. Snorlax got comfortable, and Nyx tossed the pokemon an apple from a sack he acquired recently. Gotta feed the big guy. With a toss of the apple in the air, Nyx warped to the fruit and landed softly on top of the giant beast.

Snorlax barely moved as Nyx got comfortable with his newer friend. "Alright, you ready? Nyx asked, which he was responded with a growl and a long Snooooooorlax! Nyx tossed another apple to Snorlax ignoring the glances from others.

Well. That was an impossibly large animal.

Loki had really only been planning on walking through, seeing what the fuss was about and maybe nabbing some candy and popcorn on the way if he didn't spot someone he liked (Thor would have been best, the younger Tony a slight possibility) enough to stay for, but he found himself rather waylaid on his casual stroll.

He glanced up at the man on top of the snoozing beast and rose an eyebrow. He knew him. Nyx. The man who Loki had greeted when he'd first arrived, who had once been dead but wasn't any longer. "It seems," he said mildly. "as if you've found a friend and a pillow." Loki had found a friend too, admittedly. But Absol was not interested in crowds much more than Loki was, and so the animal roamed free in the forests and could come and go as it pleased.

When he heard the voice Nyx's eyebrow perked as he glanced down. There was a man talking at him. No one he knew right off hand, which was fine. Shifting his weight he leaned some and Nyx held up his hand in a wave.

"Hey there!" Nyx offered his greeting with a pleasant smile. "This big ole guy?" Nyx asked patting his pokemon on the poofy stomach. "This is Snorlax. I met him through the doors. I gave him some food. We hung out a bit, and boom. We're buddies. Right?" Nyx glanced at the pokemon who answered with a brief snore. He was out like a light, which caused the Glaive to shrug and look back to the man.

"I'm Nyx. I don't think we've crossed paths yet."

Remus / OTA

It had been quite some time since Remus had last watched a Muggle film. He'd been shielded from that world as a child under the guise of his own safety, but had learned a decent bit about it from his mother. She'd taken him to films a few times, but that was ages ago. It had been fascinating to him to be part of the set up in putting together a make-shift outdoor cinema for the preparation of Clint Barton's birthday. Always happy to help when he could, he'd aided in getting the screen sized properly and duplicating blankets and pillows for those who came to sit comfortably while they watched.

Remus had gone over early to help with the final preparations and making sure there was enough of everything, but now there was still a little time before the movie started so he was just sort of wandering around looking at everything to make sure it was properly in place. He was especially happy with the candy selections because there were quite a few chocolate options. He'd gotten himself a variety and was happily eating them while he took a little stroll through the viewing area.

Remus / Sirius

"Did you pick a spot yet?" Sirius was ... altogether less helpful at things around here than Remus was. He didn't know why, really. At first, it'd all been very stressful and he'd laid low because he simply couldn't fathom being around anyone other than Remus with his heart being so broken. And then after that, he supposed he'd looked at everything a bit like a Holiday. He hung around with Remus, he took naps whenever he felt like it, he took fun swims in the river and romped around wherever else with Gwen and Miles and now James again too.

And he'd just -- well. He hadn't been very helpful. It'd been very selfish of him, in retrospect. Especially after seeing how well Remus had integrated himself into this little community-- what with the library and now this fun film set up. Sirius decided that after this, he was going to have to find some sort of job proper, lest he just fall into the realm of completely useless.

But tonight was for fun.

"Because I think you should get something a bit near the back--" he gestured widely, toward the last few blankets. "Easier to do unseen make outs over there, you know."

Carol had actually been excited about this one. Blade Runner had been one of her favorite movies when she was younger, and she couldn't even remember the last time she was able to sit down in anything resembling a theater to just relax and enjoy.

After making sure the beer was set up and ready to self serve, she'd taken a seat on a blanket near the back, waiting for the others to settle down and for the movie to start. There was definitely a lot of reminiscing, which wasn't really a bad thing as she sipped beer and people watched as others started to filter in from around the town, waiting for the movie to start.

So, the funny thing about Miles; he had no idea that the Blade Runner he heard about was a sequel to an old one. Of course, hew as also 16 and so his knowledge of 80s cinema might've been a little bit limited. He was still excited, though. A movie about futuristic androids that stared Han Solo? Sweet!

He'd debating watching from a roof of one of the nearby buildings but figured it was probably a better idea to stick to the ground tonight. That's what the other spider-people were doing, right? And maybe a little part of him was hoping to spot Gwen there. So it couldn't hurt to try.

Of course, being a kid, he found a good spot near the front with two different bags of popcorn in his lap and a coke. He'd been awkwardly looking around until the movie started, but became fully engrossed in looking up at the screen when it did. So much so, that he was pretty unaware of his surroundings, happy to lose himself in something that felt at least a little bit normal.

Peter loved going to the movies, and in particular he loved this movie, so he was more than down for a night out under the stars watching an old classic with the rest of the town, or at least everyone who felt like coming out for the evening. It ended up looking pretty great, between the large screen and the snacks and everything else.

And then he saw Miles sitting down toward the front, like some kind of heathen, didn't he know you wanted some distance between yourself and the screen? Peter tipped his head skyward just briefly before he decided to go and join him. "You planning on eating all of that yourself?" He asked as he dropped down beside him.

Peter didn't bother to wait for a response before he snagged a handful of popcorn too, grinning a wide teasing grin at Miles. "You ever see this one?" He asked.

Bucky / Clint

Bucky was in a great mood when he left his house to head to Clint's birthday party. He'd cleaned himself up as nicely as he could with what he had, and dressed himself in a pair of jeans and a dark purple fitted shirt, because, well, Hawkeye. It was his birthday so why not?

The whole thing looked amazing, and he couldn't wait to celebrate someone he'd grown to care pretty deeply for over the course of his time in town; someone he was excited to keep exploring those feelings with, together. It really gave him heart flutters that one wouldn't expect someone as normally stoic as Bucky Barnes to have.

He was letting Natasha run the show, figuring he'd be way better at helping in the aftermath of the cleanup. And for a little while, he just watched from afar while people gathered around. Maybe they'd come for the idea of getting to watch a movie but he hoped they were also there to celebrate the birthday of someone as great as Clint. After a little while when he saw the birthday boy had a free moment, he left his half-hiding place and walked over to where he was. "So does Natalia get to give you your birthday spankings or do I get any special privileges?" He asked, and ran a hand along Clint's back ever so lightly.

Clint positively lit up when Bucky finally showed up, tilting his head back in order to look up at him with a grin before he gestured for him to pop a squat. "Bout time you stopped hiding over there," he said, because of course he'd noticed, Clint was a lot of things but unobservant about his surroundings wasn't one of them. He'd just sort of figured Bucky'd come over when he felt good and ready. This was a pretty crowded spot currently, and crowds didn't to it for everyone.

I like your shirt he signed at the same time as he leaned into the touch, slightly smug. But it was a good shirt. And a great color. Clint'd be looking around for that to be rotated a little bit more into Bucky's wardrobe now.

"Oh," he went on with a laugh, absolutely shameless, and not just because he'd had a beer or five already. "Don't you know? I'm old. There's plenty of spankings to go around."
