Nebula | Quill
It was these kinds of moments, she thought - when he was quiet but honest that had started what had built between him and Gamora, Nebula decided. "No, not maybe." She said shaking her head as his hesitance to agree, she knew her sister well enough to know at this point in her life these kinds of things had not been a part of her life, someone like Quill was different and would be good for her, not just because they had a shared history but because of who he was. "You will be good."
And then he said that she could be too and she nodded, though a little less sure about this than she was about him. "I hope to be." She admitted, things with her sister had been complicated from the moment that their father had pitted them against one another for the first time. They were both trying to survive, Gamora on her own while Nebula had hoped to find strength in the bond she'd formed with her sister only to find that would be an impossibility.
"We were at our most distant at this point in our relationship." She admitted, and though she knew Gamora had seen her as different from the sister she had known they were still rebuilding now and it was difficult to look at her sister and see not the sister who immediately looked at her with love and the offer of a space to stay but instead to see the doubt there on her face.
"Still. The chance to know her again after-" She didn't need to finish, they both had suffered a loss when they learned that Thanos had killed Gamora. But here they were - the two of them - with a second chance.
