Nebula | Quill
Peter rose his shoulder in a shrug at her question, because he was pretty sure they both knew that he'd tale a lot more than just like if he had the chance. Nebula knew he loved her. Nebula knew he'd put the entire universe at stake because he'd been too emotional, because he couldn't stop himself being mad and broken over the fact that Thanos had taken something so good away from them - from him.
I love you. More than anything. That'd been the last thing his Gamora had said to him. And it still hurt to think about for a billion different reasons.
But Peter knew this Gamora wasn't that one, it wasn't just some kind of fill in the blank replacement. It wouldn't be fair to her, or to Peter who had somehow tricked that last one into loving him. More than anything. It wouldn't be fair to her memory.
He ducked his head down low and took the weird compliment for what it was. "Yeah. Maybe." He thought maybe this place would be good for her too, for now. Being stuck in one place forced them all to slow down, to stop running. And maybe that was just what Gamora needed. "You too, though."
