She laughed and nodded, "Yes I think you probably do win tonight's fashion competition." She agreed as he teased her - she maybe should have found something a little bit nicer, but the last thing she'd wanted was to show up and then realize she'd misread things. That would have only ended poorly for them both.
Another time though, she'd do just a little bit more, now that she was a little bit more certain about where they were both coming at this. Tonight though, she liked seeing John go on about himself.
"Please don't tell me I'm going to have to worry about you robbing a bank if that does ever become the sort of thing we decide is needed here." Her tone just a little teasing. He'd spent so long in the company of those who were only too happy to have themselves viewed as the bad guy, who put themselves outside of the rules of society, she wasn't surprised that his initial introduction had been a bit rocky, these kinds of things were learned behaviors for all of them. She thought he was better than he liked to let on though, he certainly seemed to be in her experience thus far, he was funny and attractive even with all his rough edges.
"I think they call those a staycation these days." She teased, but she liked the sentiment, anything could be a vacation. It might not have been the vacation any of them would have chosen but they didn't have to be miserable here. They could make the most of it - this chance they'd been given to do something new and different. For however long they had. "Good, I think I'd miss you if you did."
